Black is everything
Pull me right out of reality, the emptiness that's me
Black is everything
Put me right out of my misery, do what you want to me

Life outside goes on, my world is crashing inside out,
I'm gently hacking off the hinges

Erase the space, erase the memory - missing time
What I don't know will never hurt me - missing time
Cannot forget cannot remember - missing time
Disinformation is forever - missing time

Black is everything
I've got the answer right in front of me, it's everything I see
Time outside moves on, the world I know is crumbling down,
Clinging to a lost sensation

Erase the space, erase the memory - missing time
What I don't know will never hurt me - missing time
Cannot forget cannot remember - missing time
Disinformation is forever - missing time

XD about the watch. I'm surprised there's not more reviews for MDFMK. This is an awesome song and currently number one on my playlist. I think the lyrics are somewhat self-explanatory. He's slowly falling apart but 'life outside goes on', leaving him behind in his misery. He just wants to forget something, but can't.

What do people think the 'answer right in front of him' is? Gun? Something else?

Eh, anyway, like femeefatale1990 said - f&#k it. This song rules.

This song is about being abducted by aliens. The reason I say this is because there is a book called "Missing Time" by Budd Hopkins who is a prominent alien abduction researcher, or "ufologist". There was a movie about alien abduction that is of the same name as that book. Not only that but one of the most well known symptoms of alien abduction is called "Missing time". Plus, "Disinformation" is a very popular word among ufo enthusiaists. Not only that, but the entire mood and content of the lyrics and the whole song is congruent with the abduction phenomenon. If you don't know much about Ufology, then it's easy to miss this, but if you do, then it's painfully obvious.

I like the abducted by aliens idea. It makes sense especially the first and last parts. Black is all he sees-so that would be space. They go together really well

The aliens part is very true. But, don't you think, perchance, he's also making a point with it?

Granted, it's obvious that it 'is' about aliens but a situation like this (meaning in how he describes it), could relate to so many other things. Sometimes when shit hits the fan and everything is fucked up, you just have to let go, but can't.

Sometimes you have to collapse before you can explode into freedom.

Alien abduction is easily the first thing that comes to mind, but the lyrics also remind me a bit of 1984, Winston's time spent in Miniluv, and the concept of doublethink. c: That being said, excellent song.

Hello past, I\'m from the year 2021. \n\nI think this song\'s meaning is along the lines of "Control", and that the media we consume and the stories we are told are all lies designed to keep us oblivious to the fact that those in power and the wealthy are killing us.\n\nI also wanted to point out that the entire album MDFMK seems to be about evil taking the form of technology or electronic societal control system, and how we are slowly marching towards that inevitability, and how we should blow it all up before it\'s too late. But I never thought that when I listened to this music as a kid????

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
