in bed, real ill.....lonely as hell, thinking of the one you love who doesnt feel that way(anymore), cant sleep, dont know what to say to anyone, i guess the blank page is that the person you love doenst feel the same or that your finding it hard to talk to anyone.... or maybe billys struggling to write songs, this is a great song anyway, one of my faves

Once again, I find myself commenting on another work of art. The piano is haunting...it follows you around in your thoughts. Very beautiful. It's sad, but beautiful.

i agree with you fleaaaaaa...this part of the song: "got dressed drove the state line

told me you were not alone" can be about that she met someone new!?
blank page was all the rage...itīs also a very angry song to me...all anger you had inside never came out...that you stuffed it all inside and never let it out...thats the blank page for me

To me, this song seems to be about being in love with someone who no longer loves you, or maybe never did in the first place. He wants to forget about the person the song was written about, (You were easy/you are forgotten/You are the ways of my mistakes) but he can't, she's a part of him, as much as it tears him up. It's about the misery, the sadness of losing someone, the desperateness, the feeling of the bloody gash they left in your heart. There's the hope that that person will change, will love you, but they never will.

Its profound, and it speaks to me like WastedYouth said, but its just irritating! Probably the worst Smashing Pumpkins song I've heard. I always skip this track on my CD

This song has it's own meaning for me. Blank Page means getting a point across without saying a word. And to me silence is more rageful than anything else in the world when it comes from someone you love. The silence or lack of response is worse than any shouting match one could ever have. Silence can be a lover's worst nightmare.

i have a different view of this song.
someone kills themselves because they find out the person they love is cheating on them. they leave their suicide note blank
"tired of dreaming of rest"
i would want this to be my funeral song, its just so beautiful

I have this story of a love affair gone wrong, and a last attempt to find her, to redeem all, he thought she'd be at the five and dime store, but she wasn't, and he realises it's all over. With ambivalence, he tells her to move on, to shade the kids from his legacy.

Personally, this song strikes me as one's regrets about breaking up with someone. They realize they treated them badly, and that perhaps it was a mistake to end it. When they realize this, it's all too late. The other person has found someone new, and moved on.

it's about a guy sitting at home, wanting to see the one he loves, but he's uncertain that she feels the same about him, and he's afraid to go see her if she doesn't really want to see him. this song is about not doing anything or saying anything because of indecision.

It's def about a past love,a relat that didn't work out.
never meant to say anything,never meant to hurt anyone.
I think BC cheated or did something bad and the other cheated back.

to me its saying that his girlfriend cheated on him and hes depressed. It is angry and sad but its one of my favourites. Also, could anyone recomend some songs to me? im looking for new music

I remember Billy talking about this part of the song:

He said that you love someone so much,that you would do anything to see them again,even drive half way across the country

I feel like this song is about regret due to a lost love-honestly this song has taken on diffrent meanings to me at diffrent points in my life-its like a silent rage eating you up inside for something you did or didn't do. "the rain falls my friends call leaking rain on the phone" is devastating-its saying you can turn to know one because everyone has their own crap to deal with. can't really peg this one its mellodramatic beauty at its best-I love this song but try not to listen to it too much because it hurts to feel the lyrics and relate them to your life.

I think it's about someone cheating on someone else and knowing about it. but at the same time you want to see it for yourself. "stop sign told me stay at home
told me you were not alone" . it's going to hurt seeing it but you really must see it.

To me this song is about a lost love. When you love someone but for some reason the relationship ends. You would go to the end of the world for this one person yet somehow for some reason something happens (most likely cheating) that makes you hate this person. You still love them (shown in the lines about looking for them) but at the same time you hate them more than anything (shown in the line you are forgotten, you are the ways of my mistakes).

I think you guys are critically misinterpreting the rage line. All the rage is an expression to say that something is really hip, as in, when you were youn, marbles were all the rage. It's not an angry song.

I doubt "All the rage" means something really hip. That would sorta go against what the song's trying to get at.

Also, I doubt the person's sick, just depressed as hell and laying in bet a lot. Like some people do when they get really sad.
