The weird thing about this song is that it always reminds me of my church ski trip, and i didnt even hear any music the whole time i was there....i love this song-its the reason i bought the cd. I agree with catherinks in some way, cuz i did think alot differently of these songs before i knew about how they were about God, but thats awesome, and it makes it all better ><>

oh my goodness i love this song...basically i just love lifehouse cuz it seems i can relate to like all there songs...and like someone said before i think its about someone you love who wont love you back...god do i know that story well :(

This is one of my all-time favorite songs and I think it's about wanting to grow in your relationship with God. The first verse is about finally deciding to get back to what you know is right, despite all that may happen, and jumping into it knowing that God's grace is sufficient to keep you. The second verse is about trying to distinguish what God's telling you from all the other things that are thrown at you in this life and wanting just to feel emotion again and getting rid of all the hardness we've developed.
The chorus is about listening to God and even though you may not hear him, or he may be choosing not to speak to you at this time, being okay with that for the time. But knowing all the while that the best is yet to come and what we have ahead of us is so great, but just sitting at heaven's door hearing God would be enough.

This song is all about God. I mean, he's plainly talking about God in the second verse "And i'm trying to identify the voices in my head/God which one's you". How could that possibly be about a girlfriend?

This song is chosen by a lot of couples to be their song, but to me its like the verses are about himself and the chorus is about someone else, and himself. I dont like how its mixed, altho jason has a beautiful voice

Why does everyone insist that he writes every song about God? Most of you "christians" need to realize that most of these songs are love songs, about you loving someone and them not loving you back like 'Everything, Sick Cycle Carousel, etc'.

I do believe this song is related to god, but more importantly, notice how everyone in this comment line that believes the song talks about god is more peaceful and calm, where those that are anti-christianity are all hostile and angry. Sorry, just had to point that out to those that want to try and ruin another persons feelings of a song.

this is a very spiritual song, a think that right now all the christian group are doing what they didn't do 4 a long time, c'mon it's time 4 god!...i like this song a lot, and there's another christian group that's very good "12 stones" it's a very good group and i'd like to u all people who like christian music to hear this group that is with creed on their tour...christian rulez 4 everyone!

I love this song! This is my boyfriend and my song. When we broke up I would listen to it on my headphones in my bed... and I'd cry and cry and it just made me feel so much better. I live for this song.. and this c.d.... seriously it is so wonderful. lol i'm such a dork.. but whatever.. it's really good.

I hate to see everyone fighting over such a deep and meaningful song. I mean, everyone's entitles to their opinion right? And everyone's allow to express it right? And just because you don't like it doesn't mean you to attack each other. I mean it can be taken as both a love song and a god song. I for one think it's a god song. And no, I'm not Christian, so don't think it's just Christian who think it's a god song. For instance, the part when he says "I'm hanging on every word you say, and even if you don't wanna speak tonight that's alright with me" I think that means that He lvoes God so much and would do anything for him, and even though sometimes God doesn't chose to speak, he's ok with it, he trusts in god. And also, at the beginning, when it says " And gracefully fall back to the arms of grace " I think it actually might be saying Christ instead of Grace. Thats just one womans opinion though, a non- Christian woman's opinion.

I love the words "I'm finding my way back to sanity again". They remind me of getting over a hard time. Like when you loose someone, you can feel like you're going in sane, so then it's cool to hear the words that fit right into your own life. All of LH's stuff is like that.

im sorry, but this song just isnt about God. He says he wants 2 sit outside Heavens door because to him shes an angel, and so he compares Heaven to her room (he also used the same line earlier except he said of 'your door' rather than Heaven's).

It does say grace, not Christ.

People can be graceful, its a word used 2 describe graceful people - the arms of grace are symbolic to just falling back into her, and covering himself withthoughts of her which makes him feel more 'sane'

i think when he asks god, which one is you he means God, which one is you. saying God like that is a simple phrase used by nonreligious people alike, and he wants to know which voice is the one he's made up of her in his head, like a second conscience..

BrigThyme, would u prefer to be peaceful and calm in the face of a lie, or stressed and anxious because you know the only help you're going to get will be coming from your friends - cos weather he exists or not, he sure dont put his neck out 2 help yall... maybe thats because of people like me, but i guess some people just get a test or two that breaks them, and when two people in love have both been tested too far it muct just reenforce that..

I think this song is about just being with the on you love...even if no one talks; they just enjoy being with each other. This song reminds me of hanging out with this girl I like and we just sat in her room and listened to music until 4:30 in the morning. She would close her eyes and I would just look at her breathing and listening to the music. This song came on and it was both of our favorate song. So we listened to it together and when it ended....she had fallen asleep so I just watched her sleeping until I left.

jason has said many times that their songs can be interpreted in many different ways. that's the main point of them. they're written so that they can connect with all kinds of people on all kinds of levels. if you want to interpret it to be about god, then that's you're oppinion and if you want it to be a love song, then that's what you want. and if you are that worrie about it then go to: www.lifehousefans.com and go to song meanings and jason will tell you for himself

SapphireSkies: I understand what you're saying, I'm just starting to get really tired of ppl being so negative about such a great band like Lifehouse. I just can't hold it in sometimes. I'm so sick of ppl trying to tell me crap about how Lifehouse isn't Christian. They're just being so ignorant. And Lankmaster was so sure what he was saying was true. I know this site is for expressing your opinion of the song, but I just wonder how some ppl can come to the LH section to be negative, when there are so many other places they can go to be positive.
