This song reminds me of one of my best friends (whos a guy) because whenever i talk to him at night he never talks very much, and i sometimes get that weird feeling that im falling in love with him.

I think this song demonstrates how much Jason longs for God. He depends on God's grace(falling back to the arms of grace), wants to be in God's presence(sit outside heaven's door) even if God doesn't have a word for him right now, he just wants to be as close to God's presence as he can be. He hinges on every word that God has for him.

I'd say that this song is just speaking about how much this guy wants to be in the presence of the (hopefully) girl he loves. Everything she says or does is just magical to him, so doesn't even matter if she is speaking, as long as he can sit there listening.

i agree totally with Mabes, yeah its all about God. Jason just wants to hear GOd breathing, even if he doesnt hear his voice. he just wants to be closest to God as he can get. this is such a great song. i love jasons voice, it sounds so good in this song.

God shmod... god doesnt exist hes a figment of your imagination...ive never heard the song but it sounds like it about some girl like all the other sad crappy soft rock songs. Who cares if its about god or if there a christian band, i dont care that you believe in God just dont go spreading it to the rest of us like we need it cause we dont

I'm sorry that you don't have god to hold you together! This song is about god tho, I have the CD, and in it the guys all tell about how god inspired all their songs and everythin like that. This song is amazing. When I listen to it, it screams, "You're going to listen to this song, and you're going to like it." It's VERY calming. It's one of two love songs on the CD ("Hanging By A Moment" being the other one). I also once interpreted it as a dedication to my (ex) boyfriend when I wanted so desperately to be back with him. "Even if you don't want to speak tonight / That's alright / Alright with me" told him that I just wanted to be in his presence, even if he didn't want to speak.

If i thought about it for a bit, it would make sense for the song to be about god, although usually I just listen to the song and not try to cross-examine it to find the real meaning, lol.

I think this song is a love song.. here the words from the lead singer
"This is another love song that can be interpreted in a couple of different ways ( same like "Hanging By a moment" ). The verses say, "I'm finding my way back to sanity again." So it's like trying really hard and then getting back to the place you started from. Then the bridge says, "I don't want a thing from you/ Bet you're tired of me waiting for the scraps to fall off of your table to the ground." It's kind of like not wanting anything from anyone, not hanging on every word they say and just having faith you'll be able to "be here now," which is how the song ends."

I like to think of this song as a love song... "sit outside heavens door" I like interpreting that as he thinks the girl he's singing about is an angel. It's such a sweet song is you look at it as a love song...

This song makes me think of my past relationships and how caught up in them I got. All I ever wanted was to be with them and I think that this is kinda what the song means.
