Lyrics for Everything as interpreted by oofus

Everything Lyrics
find me here
and speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
you are the light
that's leading me
to the place
where I find peace again

you are the strength
that keeps me walking
you are the hope
that keeps me trusting
you are the life
to my soul
you are my purpose
you're everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this yeah

you calm the storms
and you give me rest
you hold me in your hands
you won't let me fall
you still my heart
and you take my breath away
would you take me in
take me deeper now

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

cause you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

i really hope everyone who thinks this song is about relationships knows they are wrong, it's definitely about religion. i sing this song at my youth group during worship. lifehouse is a christian band, most of their songs are about jesus and god except some people think it's about relationships. the way you can talk about your relationship with god is the same as anyone would with their girl or boyfriend.

powerful, amazing, and everything they need.

this has got to be the absolute cutest song i've ever heard in my entire life. i think at one point in life, everyone feels this way about someone. whether it's God or if it's someone that they're in a relationship with. either way, this song is incredible.

Please don't ruin this song by making it all about your choice of religion.

no way. i'm not having it. There is no way that this is about God. It's far to obvious to be that, and too intense. Has Lifehouse done anything remotely as extreme and religious as what people are suggesting here? No.

'you're all i want, you're all i need'
'you're everything'
How intense and over the top. You honestly think he's suggesting that he doesn't need anyone else other than god in his life? Ribbish

oh sorry if this isn't being discussed on the later pages where this will be postaed, but it is on the the first few pages, and i just find it insulting, that i song i think is truely amzing to be wrongly categorized like this. Love it for what it is, a love song.

well i guess every song means something different to everyone, but, my take is a little different, i think it has to do with a once strong realtionship, not feeling the same, as in, that person once meant everything, and now, the feeling isnt there anymore, "how can i stand here next to you(the person referred to in all of the great things listed) and then.. not be moved by you" basically i take it as a song questioning oneself's feelings, that have faded

Jason grew up in a devout Christian home and and I doubt he'd be telling a human they're the only reason he's living, that they are the "light" and so on. what happens when that person dies? uh oh!

this song can be taken however you want it but it's clear that this song was written to God by them..

Allright everyone, go to youtube or Godtube.com and do a search for "Lifehouse Everything Skit" If after seeing this you don't think that this song is about God then I will be shocked. And I'm not a very religious person.

Amen, I was gonna say the same thing. That is a beautiful skit and this is a beautiful song, that is directed towards the most high. I can't imagine someone that grew up within the faith turning to a girl and saying what was said. Only God provides. And the part where it says "and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you"
When you are in the presence of God it changes you.
God Bless

this song is not biblical at all this song can be interpreted as that but i do not... this song is saying that she is his everything she guides him through it all and through everthing ... he needs her to be the beam holding him up in his life because of everything going bad... his life is going down the hold but she is there to stop that from happening ... she is his everything...

i have a sort of relationship like this... im going through a lot and i need her to be there for me but she is too far away to kinda help besides phone so if anyone wants to help me...

for me, the line "you calmed the storms" pretty much gives it away...Jesus calmed the storms when the disciples were in the boat...along with all the other clues, this song is definitely about God

ok everybody, facts are facts. people seem to be missing the point here. if you're gonna look up the meaning of the song, son't post a bunch of jargon about your "interpretation of it" unless that is all you have to go on. this song is about god/jesus...let that sink in...god...jesus. you can all have an interpretation of course, but that's not what the song is about. it can mean something different to everyone, HOWEVER, is is about...wait for it...god...and jesus. jason has said so. don't believe me? then kindly click on this link that will take you to a clip from an actual lifehouse concert where this song was played and a scene was acted out on the stage. http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=ee73e63418003b47d7d5 it portrays exactly what this song is about. bit samey for a while but it ends really powerfully!! really!
god bless you all.

PS it is about a relationship/friendship. that of his with god. thats the point of christianity. god is a real and intimate being a desires a personal relationship with everyone individually. sorry about the link stuff up. might have to type it in yourself. :)

pps (sorry guys :P) mojpage, i'm take a stab in the dark and assume you know very little about the christian faith. i pray that you look into it a little further. trust me, it's worth it :) yes he is saying that he doesn't need anyone else in his life other than god. all christians will say that. of course they want more people in the lives but at the end of the day, if everyone in the world was dead but you, you'd still have god standing right beside you, telling you it'll be ok. he really is all you need. he created you, he saved you, he wants you to know him. he'll keep you going when all your loved ones have left you, he'll never desert you. guess what? even if you don't choose to to believe it's true...it is. there is nothing you can do about it. everyone can believe whatever, but the objective reality is that god is real and living. (how can i stand here next to you and not be moved by you) every christian who has stood before god and given themselves to him knows this. there is no going back once you see that.

People are saying that their torn between whether this is a religious song, or a relationship song-- but to me being "Religous" is having a relationship with Jesus. I myself think this is about God. We sang it in my youth group and I find it absolutely amazing =]
Not to mention the video on youtube of the skit. [Just type 'Lifehouse's Everything Skit'. It's the one at Winterfest in TN.]

I love this song. Keep it up! :o)

i can totally see where people are saying this is about god. it probably is. but this song totally captures the feelings i have for the man i'm in love with. and thats the only thing that really matters.. the way YOU personally interpret it.

this song takes my breath away.
i cant get over how amazing the lyrics are.. and how amazing his voice sounds whilst hes singing them.
