I actualy use this song as a prayer. It was written with the intention of speaking to God. It's not something that would make a radio hit, but it really is a hit on my list.

i dont think it matters whether jason wrote this about god or a girl..... i think in each song, there is a special meaning that each person is supposed to find for THEMSELVES, according to how it makes them feel... not according to what's written on every web page. But... I am going to have to say this song blew me away when I first heard it. There's no denying that it's beautiful. You give a song like this away once to one special person because you find it when you least expect it... just like love. it's not a song you dance to at a homecoming or something because you heard it on a radio.

My gosh..it's such a pretty song. I havent actually heard it properly like with a tune or anything but wow, it is sooo nice. And makes me realise how much I'm in love, and how much Brad means to me, I dunno if the song's about a girl or God..but I know it reminds me of Brad, cos that's really how i feel about him.

this song expresses everything i feel for MUSIC, the first time i heard it i dedicated it to my EX-(good-friend)crush, but now i realize it is everything i FEEL for music, and maybe it is about god and stuff but at same time it would be a beautiful love song

Honestly, i am confuzed on how you can compare this powerful lyrics to a guy/girl relationship. I am kinda ashamed of all the Christians on this post because of you said this song could be about a lot of things, and if you think about it, it absolutely can't. I am sorry to come off like a jerk, but it upsets me to hear someone comment that by saying, "you are everyhing" can be refering to a girl (or guy). Think about it. God is it. That's all this life is for and about.

I read an article and Jason said that it's a fantastic song, and everytime he plays it, a new meaning comes to mind, people mean different things when they write down one song... so all of u shud just shut up.. a song can mean different things to different people

You all have really good points. I really, really feel this song is about God for ME, but I'm pretty sure I heard what Christinedequeen did. I find myself subconciously silently singing this song to God constantly. And just in case any one's wondering, his 'girlfriend' is now his wife, and her name is Braeden. This song is one of my favorite songs. I think its about what ever you want it to be.To me its what I would say to that girl that i haven't even met yet, Because she would be everything to me.Oh yeah Kritin Kreuk of smallville is gorgeous.

I think this song is about meeting someone so amazing. Someone who can change your life for the best and leave you in awe not knowing what has happened. It's about having ALL your dreams and wishes come true by this one person and not believing it has happened. It's about not being able to live without this person. THERE.:)

on my class trip i listened to this song on repeat nonstop for 3 hours... durig this time i wrote my boyfried a note. in the note i talked about how much he ment to me and how speccial our relationship was and how much i truely loved him. needless to say i never got to give him the note becuase we broke up before i had a chance. he was an awsome guy or so i thought.... he turned out to be an ass... well ne way back to the song i love how it just builds up to such a strong emotion and beat... it helps me express how i felt when i was kissing him or just being with him i am moving on and have found myself a new boyfriend... i kno that the harsh impact he had on my heart has changed the way i trust people but i think it has helped me slightly... i kno just dont trust people right off the bat and dont quickly regain trust in people that betray me... for ne one that has has given their heart away just to have the person u thought u loved playwith it as if it didnt mean anything to them... things get better and life will eventually go on...

but thanks to Lifehouse for writing such and awsome song with such awsome feeling... it helped me try to tell him how i felt even tho he will never get the not

Yes, I'm agnostic. Actually I feel this song is about a relationship. Maybe it's between someone and whatever god they choose to worship, maybe it's about two lovers, or two best friends. It's one of those songs that is so beautiful and well-done that it can take on different meanings for situations.

Personally, I think it's about being with your soulmate. And no, a soulmate doesn't have to be a romantic interest. It could be a friend with whom you share a very close relationship with.

Yes, I first hear it in Smallville. But I had already had it downloaded and hadn't listened to it yet. I think Lifehouse is a great group.

i never realised Lifehouse were a Christian band before i gor their CD. i agree that all their songs could be about God but then different interpretations make the songs about something else. i really love this song. it wasn't until i read an interview somewhere that i found ou that jason had written this song about God....either way its still a great song. deep and amazing really. and about the comments that just coz Lifehouse are a christian band all their songs are about god, that's only if you hear it that way. different songs have different meanings for different people. but i disagree that ALL their songs are about god. simon (better live than on the cd i think) isnt really about god at all. everything is about whatever deeply means something to you. in jason's case it was god.

Its about Love, no one can argue that. Whoever gives you strenght and trust and hope that you need, then its about them. The song wasn't written for us to argue what its about, take it 4 what it is, how it makes YOU feel. Its a beautiful song and whoever you feel its about then they are beautiful too.
