I'm agnostic as well as some of the others that responded to this, but I can see how some of you would consider it a song about your god. But I interpret it differently. I feel it is about relationships. But everyone is different and no two people are going to have the same interpretation, so take it for what you want.

I'm agnostic too, heh. But I feel, in my opinion, this song is about a significant other. And he's just saying how much he cares for her, and saying "how can I be here with you and not feel anything?" And he's saying it's perfect, "how could it be better than this?"

This song was in Smallville twice, in the first episode (Pilot) when Lana and Clark dance in the barn, and in the last of the first series (Tempest, I believe), when Lana and Whitney dance together in the empty dance hall. I had heard this song before, and when I saw it on the Pilot episode, I cried, just because now the song has a whole different meaning to me, and a whole different memory. Everytime I listen to the song, I remember exactly what happened with Lana and Clark.

I know, I'm a Smallville obsessed. : )

I don't know but I'd like to think that it was written to God. Somehow a song like this written for another human makes it less beautiful... It's too deep to sing a song like this for a gf/bf.
I can't say how much I love this song and the emotion in Jason's voice when he sings it. I love the way it's like so soft in the beginning and then it gets kinda more rocky at the part "cause you're all I want... you're all I need, you're everything"
This is one of the most... maybe *the* most beautiful song(s) I have ever heard. It's definitely my favorite on No Name Face. The first time I heard it, it was like... wow. I kept the chorus to myself and couldn't get it out of my head. Now after hearing it so many times it still touches me deep inside. It's like one of those songs you never get sick of.

ok i just have to say...why do people think that if a band is christian then the songs immediately about god?? well yeah i guess how religious u are has a big part to do with how u interpret it...or like if you really like a guy then u are likely to interpret it about love...which is what i think its about...i could just listen to this song all day i love it

If this is about God, I took it completely out of context because to me its talking about someone who loves you and you love in return. I don't like thinking about it in a religious sense. It is such a beautiful song for someone to dedicate to someone or to experience something beautiful to.

...this is a beautiful, calming song, i think it's about relationships, and how you can be so taken by someone, and so in aw of them...everytime i listen to it, it makes me almost cry, because it reminds me of an amazing person, who i feel this deeply for...

this song is one ov the best songs that life house has. it is really creative and true. i have gotten my friends to all love this song especially all ov us have a special piece of it in us... or in our relationships. its so believable and true... i actually have cried while listening to it... this song is very original and its a great song to share with someone you love...

All of the songs on Lifehouse's album are about God...they're a Christian band...and I love how their songs can be interpreted in different ways. One of the best bands. Ever.

***This song if fully about his love for god, And how god is his everything. Many songs that are about god can be either looked at as being ment for a girlfriend or boyfriend, but this was is deffinatly god. They are a Christian band, but also play secular music which is sweet. I love the line.."you are the life to my soul
you are my purpose,you are everything" Those words are so strong, i can totally relate..This song really shows how calming and how peaceful gods love is. I think this song is Awesome..It can help you in the times when you are in need. And when he says the lines "Your all i want, your all I need, you are everything" This displays his yearning, and want for gods love a peace, the peace and love that only god can give. And "Would you tell me how could it be, any better than this" I think just says how great gods love is, and how it couldn't get any better than this. This song rocks..God Bless

my boyfriend and i picked this song for ourselves and i hadn't really thought of it to be dealing with religion until i read this and i can totally see that now. I still feel that it can really go both ways. this is truely a wonderful song and i am thankful my guy introduced me to it

this is my favorite lifehouse song besides storm. i read somewhere that jason wrote this song about life, love, and god. for me, it alwayz reminds me of the person i luv. the lyrics are amazing and jason has one of the most amazing voices in rock. Lifehouse rox!

Dude this is one of the greatest songs in the world. I love this song so much and while i can totally see how people may perceive it as having an association with god or something greater, I think it's about a guy who is so completely in love with a girl and she is everything to him. And I really think that this makes a great love song even the greatest because there is sooooo much feeling behind it and Jason's voice is so perfect for the song.

yeah lifehouse blows ass....but i was watchin smallville a while back...and they played like the last soft verse, and then it went to the harder part, w/ distortion and shit, which is the HIGH AS HELL point of hte song.....and yeah this is a pretty bad ass song....everytime i hear the "YOUR ALL I WANT" where he sings it louder and it goes into the harder part...i totally feel it, its pretty bad ass......but other then this song, lifehouse is complete crap

this song is amazing...i just heard it on smallville when they had a rerun of like the first episode or something. im not really that big on lifehouse but this song is so awesome. i love the beat, just everything goes perfect...sorta depressing but still good. i dont really think its about god..i think its more of about finding that one person that you really love and not taking anything for granted. its like knowing that each quality of that person is something you cant find with anyone else.*amazingsong*

I think there is a duality to it. It is very much a love song and it seems to be directed towards God. As a Christian lyricist, I will tell you that every love song I have ever been able to write could be sung to both the girl and God. This song is way more directed to God.
