Lyrics for Everything as interpreted by oofus

Everything Lyrics
find me here
and speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
you are the light
that's leading me
to the place
where I find peace again

you are the strength
that keeps me walking
you are the hope
that keeps me trusting
you are the life
to my soul
you are my purpose
you're everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this yeah

you calm the storms
and you give me rest
you hold me in your hands
you won't let me fall
you still my heart
and you take my breath away
would you take me in
take me deeper now

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

cause you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

i think that this song, although a lot less popular than "hanging by a moment," is much better. although the beat is slower, and the lyrics harder to follow, this is a great song. my favorite line is, by far,

"how can i stand here with you, and not be moved by you?"

i heard it first on "Smallville" and i have been trying to find it for a while now. i just downlaoded it and you have got to hear it. the emotion that they put into the song is the majority of the meaning. you know that whoever he is singing to, is the person that he cares about most in the world

well i hate to start an insane thread about religion like they do on creed sites, but this song is all about his relationship with God. "how can i stand here with you
and not be moved by you" is asking how anyone can not be affected by God's awesomeness, not a girls, sorry. If you listen again you'll see what i'm talking about and it makes the song even better. it really is a great song about jason's faith and how it helps him through everything because he is his everything!

This song is so powerful. It cannot be intended for a girl, it had to be about God. Only God can give you the peace of mind he is talking about in this song.

This song has very special significance to me. I find it is by far the best song on their album, along with Somewhere in Between because the lyrics are just so full of emotion and the song can really make you think. By reading princessauroras post... I never thought of this song having to do with God but I can see how u can interpret it that way, although my first impression of it was that it was about a girl, and that's how I have thought of it since. It's just so great and one of my absolute fav songs ever!

This is indeed an expression of how Jason feels about his heavenly Father and the love that He has shown him. Jason seems to just be desperate for God, he longs for Him. God leads him, gives him peace, hope, is trustworthy, the life(Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me), strength, purpose...just everything to him. God keeps him safe, he hold's Jason's breath and heart in his hand. Jason knows this and wants to have an even deeper relationship with God. In the thank yous on the last page of the cd jacket the band says that "all of this came from God" and that they are offering praise back to Him. What an awesome song to end the cd!

To me this song isn't about god everyone can have their own interpretation. I love this song though it's a little slow for me. It's me & this guy's song that I love a lot. It just has the best lyrics for a love song... You can think of it as a god song though if you want. I can't I have no religion.

i agree with walking-catastrophe- this is my favorite song in the world because it sums up everything about my relationship with a certain guy- i am agnostic- sorry guys- so i think that this can be interpreted in many ways- i read an interview where jason says that "That's a super-special song for me. It seems to really connect with other people, too. It's one of those songs that every time I played it, a new part came to it. That's why it's so long and kind of mysterious. It's a bunch of different bits and pieces, but it has power because it kind of sums up everything I'm about - lyrically and in terms of my relationships and Lifehouse overall. So I think it's a perfect way to end the record." -just so you know- i got the same quote from several different places- so i guess interpret as you will- be well and until then...

This song has a special meaning to me. I realize that Wade probably wrote it about God, but for me, it's about something else. This song is a very good description of the way I feel about wolves, although it might be a bit over the top. Laugh if you must (or stare blankly; whichever works) but I truly feel that strongly about them.

This song is easily the best song on No Name face and Lifehouse' best work. While some of you say it is about god and it may very well be. To me i always thought of this song as a relationship very very strong. He is telling her just how much she means to him, how much he loves her, how much he needs her in his life. She is everything to him. " how can i stand here with you and not be moved by you, would you tell me how could it be any better than this... cause your all i want, your all i need your everything, everything" this to me is him standing in front of a girl and saying this is what it means to be alive. I could not ask for more. I love you and i want you to know that.

being a christian and in a serious religionship, ithink that thi song could be about either. "you are the light thats leading me to the place where i find peace again" is a bit of this song and many people refer to god as The light or the way to peace. also there is references in the bible about God calming the stor, which also features in the lyrics, so i guess, forme, this song is most def about theBig Man upstairs.

Yes, I suppose the song does have a lot of vague Biblical references.

But, the funny thing about songs for God is that you can change the pronoun "He, Him, His," and change them to "She, Her, Her," and not have to change any lyric of the song..

.. and vice versa.

Maybe this song is about God. But, to me, it's the perfection I can find in the beauty of another human being. It also details the hesitation of falling into another relationship, despite the beauty that person can make you feel. You don't want to fall again, but "How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?"

because i dont have that type of relationship with anyone..including God
and no matter how hard i try i keep failing at it.
plus this song reminds me of my old best friend..
we dont talk anymore..but we always use to drive around for hours listening to this one song..
i would always cry, and she would always listen... to me cry and what i had to say. since we dont talk i always hurt when i hear this song..

This song is about God, there is no arguement, he has said in many interviews that "Lifehouse" is a "Christian" band, he wrote this song about God and what God does in him and to him. All of you that have this song as a song between you and your partner, that's great, but just know that it was God that put you two together and that without him, you two would have never met.

"Steadlydrowning" I know how you're feeling and although you may not believe me, I really do, just hang in there and things will be okay, I'll be praying for you.

This song is so amazing and powerful! I was never sure if this song was about God, but now I know it is. It's so beautifully written!
"steadilydrowning", you CAN have a relationship with God! That's the great thing, He'll never reject you. Believe, go to Church, read the Bible, Glorify Him, live for Him! I'll pray for you for sure. Don't give up, God is with you. He wants to be your friend, you have to chose to accept Him though. If you need to talk, you can email me at snickerdoodle135@hotmail.com ... I hope you do email me, then we can talk about this further. God Bless.

I think this song is totally about GOd. I cant see (personally) how it could be about a girl. its so powerful. i can relate to it so much esp. when its says "how can i stand here and not be moved by you"- i think the same thing too sometimes- how can i just sit here and not be effected by GOd? Its becuase i am not letting HIM. and then the best part is when it gets all rocky and "your all i want, your all i need, your everything, everything". God is all i need in my life and all i really want. this song makes me want to cry out to God. its so awesome. we sing it at my youth group and its so powerful everytime i sing it. I just cant see how a girl can do that for you. i love lifehouse, they are so awesome. adn this is their best song. are they gona come out with another CD?

this song is primo. i've never really thought about it with that god outlook on it. but that's kewl to think about. to me this song has alot of meaning because it says almost everything i can't about one guy in particular. i especially like the beginning because it's so slow and peaceful. sweet

I hate to make anyone mad, but to me, the whole "No Name Face" CD has nothing to do with God. Yes, I understand AND respect that Lifehouse is a Christian Rock group, but to me, their songs have everything to do with relationships (most of them depressing). This whole CD has helped me through an extremely upsetting relationship, and I continue to listen to it today, almost a year later. "Everything" represents my feelings toward my (ex) boyfriend when he couldn't understand how I was feeling. "HOW CAN I STAND HERE WITH YOU, AND NOT BE MOVED BY YOU?" was (to me) me trying to make him see how special he was to me.

one great thing about music is that any person can interpret it the way he/she wants. If people wants to think its about God, fine, if people wants to think it's about a girl or a guy, fine. I personally think Lifehouse made most of the songs thinking of personal relationships. Im truly moved by their lyrics and hope they never leave the music scene. Lifehouse Rocks!

All I can say about this song and group is wow. This song is about love, loving someone, and Wade sings it with so much emotion. This is my favortie Lifehouse song next to Simon. It starts off slow in the beg. then it picks up like 4 minutes into it and starts to go faster and louder, download this and buy "No Name Face" you'll be amazed. The lyrics are out of this world too!

my ex bf sent it to me. I suppose to show he still cared? heh... but I don't "share" it with him. I think everyone who said it's talking about how amazing God is was right. Yay for that!!! or else the lyrics would have driven me insane!

to me this song is all about how God is everything....like the title.....all you need is God in you life. Nothing is better then having God in your life like there are tho's things that are like wow this is great feelings but is it actaully great. listen to the passion they play with in the song they give their all telling God how much they want him and thats all they want and how hez everythnig to them and how they cant stand in God's presence becuase you cant stand in his presence and not be moved. God is real...this song tells you that.

I can't decide if its about religion or a relationship. Its a little of both. more about religion though. The words are stronger when thought of as being god, not as a female or male thing.
