If my honey comes back, sometime
I'm gonna rap that jack, sometimes
Get a hump in my back, sometimes
I'm going over here, sometimes

Way down yonder, sometimes
Gonna get my pal, sometimes

Lyric Correction:Hola. Here are the lyrics he's sampling. It's from an old African-American ring game called "Way Down Yonder, Sometimes"; a superior version of 'Duck, Duck, Goose'.

    Way down yonder, sometimes
    Below the log, sometimes
    Wild gesse are holl'ring, sometimes*
    Ganders trot, sometimes*
    Bullfrog marry, sometimes
    His mother-in-law, sometimes
Now let's get on board, sometimes
I'm going to ball that jack, sometimes
Until my honey comes back, sometimes
I want to rear back Jack, sometimes
And get a hump in my back, somtimes
    I'm going over here, sometimes
Going to get my pal, sometimes

    *Lyric omitted from recording.

General Comment:Uhhh, I believe the correct lyrics are
"get my honey come back, sometime"
"I wanna rap like that, sometime"
"I get a hump in my back, sometimes"
    "I'm going over there, sometime"
And really? I thought this website was for people to share their interpitations of songs, not to announce wether or not they hatin or lovin this song. Or the singer, for that fact. It's his style of music, you either like it or you don't. Don't have to go dissing him and his whole career. I, personally, love this song. And these comments are just childish. In thought this is what we tried to avoid YouTube for....

General Comment:The opener to an album that finds Moby going through heartbreak. This might be the only song on the album with some sort of joy for the narrator, for he has his baby for now...until he loses her, which then he tries to "find my baby". It's interesting to note that the album opener doesn't fade into the song, it cuts right into the main piece which makes sense conceptually because we already find our character in love with his baby with no exposition.

General Comment:I always thought that the lyrics were

    never gonna come back, sometimes
    i wanna red paycheck, sometimes
gonna hop in the back, sometimes
    i'm going over here, sometimes

General Comment:Techno, Electronica, whatever you want to call it, Play definitly was one of his best records. The bluesy feel makes it awesome. As for the song...well, i think perhaps that when his girl comes back home after cheating on him he gonna "get rid of" the other guy (first two lines), and perhaps live with his girl till they're old (hump in my back) and retire somewhere else (im goin over here) I don't know. Get your own meaning from it if you want, thats just the way i see it.

General Comment:With this song, Moby sampled BESSIE JONES's "Sometimes." It's important to know that Bessie Jones recorded this song in the 1930s. Bessie Jones learned alot about music from her grandfather who was a slave born in Africa. This is more important than Eminem's ranting. This is more significant than "techno."

General Comment:well, i think this song is really about the fact that when his honey comes back, hes going to rap that jack (presumably someone worth rapping), get a hump in his back (whatever turns you on), and then go somewhere....sometimes....

but seriously this song just kinda seems like an exuse for good music to me. lyrics dont have an especially deep meaning, and i like it that way.

oh and samus, eminem is a very angry young man who has deep psychological problems involving his mother. this means that moby totally owns him, so kindly shut the hell up.

General Comment:this song is similar to natural blues and find my baby. He took a sampling and worked with that. It sounds very bluesy, i'm sure its an old worksong or something like that. Catchy.

But anyway, if we're going to have idiots posting, could we please assign them to the appropriate section? Thankyou.
