Hello
I've waited here for you
Everlong
Tonight, I throw myself into
And out of the red
Out of her head, she sang
Come down and waste away with me
Down with me
Slow, how you wanted it to be
I'm over my head
Out of her head, she sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever be this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
Breathe out
So I can breathe you in
Hold you in
And now
I know you've always been
Out of your head
Out of my head, I sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
And I wonder
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
I've waited here for you

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Word Alive, The
This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone).
And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.
Techno Ted

Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.
Fortnight
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.
Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
This is the greatest song ever written, well I think it is anyway, don't you agree?
8 years later and its still the greatest song ever written.
couldn't agree more... :)<br /> it's one of the best tune there is
yah no kidding. it'll always be one of my favorites :D
the drumming is just killer, it's amazing and it's gorgeous. This is a relentless, frenetic, awesome song...unique in it's chord patterns and applications of rhythm and emphasis and the combinations of the two.
my coffins going down to this song, its more than a song
definitely agree...one of the best songs of the 90s
Agreed<br />
Quite possibly the greatest song ever written--because it expresses so simply, directly, and honestly expresses what every mortal human feels from time to time--that longing for something "eternal," or something that will last ''everlong.''<br /> <br /> here's a copy of what I wrote in another post... it might not be right, but I personally think it is the best interpretation on this comment board, so here it is...<br /> <br /> David Grohl, like most humans, is reaching for something ''that can last forever'' because we intuitively realize that another metaphysical or spiritual state of being must exist-- like Socrates said -- you can't define ''hot'' without something that is ''cold.'' you can't define greater, without something that exists being ''smaller.'' Every single thing exists as a ''compound in one.'' Life wouldn't exist, if death didn't exist. And Mortality, or death wouldn't exist, if Immortality didn't exist. Thus, we continue to reach for ''something real'' ''something that can last forever.''<br /> <br /> The reason why people cry during this song is because it resembles a prayer--almost like reaching out to God, or something more "eternal" than this short, fleeting existence, and the love and connections we experience here-in. We've all had separations from good people, people we love, and we look toward God, or something more "eternal" than ourselves, for re-assurance.<br /> <br /> According to the video, the two people who are singing the song have entered into each other's dreams--through dreams, they have detached from a physical extistence and entered into a spiritual/metaphysical existence, where they are in each other's dreams. The end of the song is CLASSIC. They wake up from their dreams and through music--their spiritual/dream/metaphysical existence (whatever you want to call it) becomes part of their reality. Trying to apply one's ''dream'' to reality, or the ''spiritual, eternal nature of things'' to the here-and-now physical world, is what we all crave to do. <br /> <br /> I've had maybe one or two moments in my life where I felt connected to a ''higher power,'' mainly through dreams or a dream-like state of consciousness (not drugs, which are a counterfeit). And the video is about dreaming -- so I think my interpretation is the best so far. lol And since the song's title is ''everlong'' and it deals with ''the eternal nature of things'' and it sounds like a cry for something to "last." yes... I'm convincing myself more and more as I write this, it is about ''eternal'' stuff, it is the human soul crying for something to last, for something immortal and eternal to exist. <br /> <br />
My all time favorite, that's for sure!
That's an awesome interpretation, "mypeace".
I can't even express what I felt when they sang it live in Buenos Aires a few months ago.. after a massive storm that hitted us for about 3 or more hours... and still, they came and the played the shit out of them!!! Dave almost lost his voice singing for us.. one of the most enjoyable nights in my life!.<br /> <br /> Mypeace you've said it!... that resumes everyting in such a perfect way!
@Everlong Totally agree!
