A. This is one of MY favorite songs, and I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, and as for the guy who said it had sexual euhanisms, if you want sexual euhanisms, this is not your song, go see Dave Matthews Band.

B. As for the meaning of the song. I think the meaning of the song has to do with The apex, or the hight of a relationship and how when your on top, the only place to go is down. And saying how the person who is singing it doesn't want it to end or go down, he wants it to escalate to something higher, or to create a new apex.

Again, just my opinion, but *shrug*

this song is by far one of the best songs ever writen and played in the history of alternative music and possily all music in general.so deep yet fun and inocent. you guys should download the acoustic version. its amazing. oh and this song is about the sheer joy and excitment of being around a new found love.especialy in the beggining. and then having sex all at the same time. the feeling is incredible and this song sums it up in a few minutes. i love it.

damn good song, not taking anything away from dave, but seriously the song is just talking about fucking, it's not some deep song with deep inner beauty... and for all of you who say foo fighters have eclipsed Nirvana, well just pull ur head out of ur ass... how old are u people? like 12, as someone who remembers when Nirvana was still around, there was no greater band than nirvana in the early 90's.

This song reminds me of a special time I had with someone that I loved. But I don't remember the time. I fell all warm and fuzzy everytime I listen to this song. But let me say something about Dave Grohl. I don't care if you like him or not, but it's his fault that Kurt Cobain died! He was having an affair with Courtney Love, and Kurt found out so they killed him! But Dave still makes good music!

I agree with the earlier statement. To say a song, any song, is the greatest or best ever is extremely subjective. I guess it would be PC to say that it was the greatest ever to YOU. And even so, how do you judge a songs greatness? My guess is that the greater the song is to you is directly related to how much the song moves you. I know good songs, to me, give me a certain feeling. It's like they flip a certain switch in me and I instanly just KNOW that it is good.

With that being said, this IS my favorite song. I realize the heaviness of that statement, but I cannot think of another song that has moved me more, or flicked that aforementioned switch more, than this song. It is not off of my favorite album, not are they my favorite band. But this song does just does it for me. And if that isn't a rant, I don't know what is.

I think that this song kicks ass, but the acoustic version is much better the words seem to take on a new meaning and dave seems to have much more emotion and connection with the words in the acoustic

I agree with raspberry, this song puts a lot of mixed emotions out. This song is romantic, but not overly sensitive. Its a beautiful, powerful song and i love it.

the first time i heard this song it automaticaly(spelling?) became one "of the top ten songs", but like Ribi said thats impossible(and thats quite true) but it will always and forever be one of my favorite songs..Grohl is the Eienstien of rock n' roll love songs. if you like this song download Aurora.
