Lyrics for Everlong as interpreted by me109cito

Everlong Lyrics
Hello
I've waited here for you
Everlong

Tonight
I've thrown myself into
And out of the red, out of her head, she sang

Come down
And waste away with me
Down with me

Slow how
You wanted it to be
I'm over my head, out of her head, she sang

And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
Got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang

Breath out
So I can breathe you in
Hold you in

And now
I know you've always been
Out of your head, out of my head, I sang

And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
Got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang

And I wonder
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
Got to promise not to stop when I say when

It's a good song. could use some instrumentals here and there, though on the other hand the guitar parts are already great.

This is a great example of a love song. The lyrics were beautifully written and the music goes perfect with it, in my opinion.

simply the GREATEST song ever written...I start to tear every time I hear this

Although I wonder what he's saying during the bridge.....I remember in an interview it was a combination of 3 things, one of them being Grohl reading an instruction manual, but the other two I have no clue

i love this song. its so awesome and sweet, but it isn't slow and mushy. I was wondering what he said too during that part, all i could make out was "you're so sweet, promise....." and i have no clue what else he says. But this song is definitely on my top ten list. And it's just about that person you love, being with them, and the awesome way that they make you feel.

I think the fact that Dave Grohl wrote this song makes it amazing. This is the kind of stuff you expect from Dave Matthews, Howie Day, or John Mayer. This is definitely one of the greatest songs.

Well, you guys just proved to me that Kurt Cobain's not the only one that's overrated... Dave Grohl isn't that great of a musician. I admit he's great... but this song couldn't be on the top 10 songs ever written. People say that when they're ignorant of other people's music... go listen to Jeff Buckley or something. Now that guy was an underrated musical/lyrical genius. I'm not saying this song isn't good... it's a very very good song that i like a lot... but, jeez... you guys sound like there was no music before the Foo Fighters came along.

hey EMO...if that is your real name...i think when all of these nice people are saying that this song is one of the greatest songs ever written, i think they're using it in the context of their own scale...not a generalized graph to make everyone happy...you're on crack if you think that..
crackhead..

First of all, EMO you are totally wrong and outspoken, and secondly this song (now that I know the meaning of it) is soooo beautiful. The euphemisms for sexual ectasy are just amazing. Dave Grohl may not be Kurt Cobain but he is still AWESOME!!!!!

this prob sounds stupid, but i hate when a top ten list of greatest songs of all time is ever brought up b/c i think that's just simply impossible to come up with, there's way too much amazing music out there to where it can't be compressed into some top ten list, and besides, it's all opinionated anyway, a song should be judged on the way it makes u feel when u listen to it, whenever u get too technical over the makeup of a song, u tend to lose some of it's authenticity, for instance, i'm sure everyone will agree that jimi hendrix was a musical genius and a much better guitarist then dave grohl, but i get more feeling listening to everlong then to voodoo child, even though that song is so much more complicated and ridiculous in its technical makeup, i could care less if u thought n'sync is a better musical group than the beatles for instance, as long as u get more feeling out of their music, alright, maybe that's too much but u get the point (man, i don't know what the hell i just wrote, hopefully somebody else will)sorry for getting carried away and sounding too preachy, i think i'm on crack right now... i love the foo fighters, anyone know when their next cd is coming out that's been talked about?...

just another note to further prove my point b/c as of now, i got nothing else to do, but bob dylan is prob the most influential lyrrical(spelled right?) genius of all time, his songs and lyrics are insane, that's just my opinion, but i prefer the foo fighters simpler lyrics over dylan's b/c their music simply rocks...

I agree with raspberry, this song puts a lot of mixed emotions out. This song is romantic, but not overly sensitive. Its a beautiful, powerful song and i love it.
