Lyrics for My Hero as interpreted by me109cito

My Hero Lyrics
Too alarming now to talk about
Take your pictures down and shake it out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He's ordinary
Don't the best of them bleed it out
While the rest of them peter out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He's ordinary
Kudos my hero leaving all the best
You know my hero, the one that's on
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He's ordinary

i think the powerful, driving drums put this song just above everlong in overall excellentness. the drums in everlong are only normal, but in this song they just make me want to play drums more than anything else.

yeah, this is one aspect of its greatness...and i think, that most of the really great heroes are those ordinary people david sings about...

I think this song COULD be about Kurt, but isn't meant to be just about him...I think it's about how a person's idol, can turn out to be simply human. Just "ordinary". And being able to accomplish a lot, and still be like that, can be heroic in itself.

What does he mean when he says, "Use that evidence, race it around"?

That part confuses me, but it makes me lean more to the Kurt Cobain explaination side. What's it all about?

This is a wonderful song. I'm not too sure that it was written for Kurt, the video that i've seen suggests something different; that anyone can be a hero. Watch the video, perhaps it will explain what the song is about..

Everyone says that Everlong is the best Foo Fighters song but My Hero is my personal fav. A lot of things probably inflenced Dave to write this song. His thoughts about heroes from he was a child might have been what he originally intended it to be but he watched Kurt go from a nobody to one of the most influencial people in the world and that had to have some influence on the song.

Dave Grohl said himself that the song was about Kurt.

The song is about Kurt, but it's more about how Kurt was an amazing person, but he was just normal. If you watch Kurt and Courtney they all say that Kurt was just a quiet guy who liked to listen and was generally a nice guy. This is the person that Dave must've known, not they person people saw in his videos or on stage. Dave respected him greatly for just being himself and probably realised that the person he respected more than anyone else was, while an incredibly famous rockstar, an ordinary person.

Just a point, if you notice after reading Kurt cobain's journals, the music video for, " my hero " seems like something that Kurt would have made up comparing that video to the ideas for some Nirvana videos in his journals. Just thought it was kinda interesting.

Hey... I don't know if this was posted but this song isn't about Kurt Cobain...

I'll quote FooArchive.com (http://www.fooarchive.com/) that they say "MY HERO
"That's my way of saying that when I was young, I didn't have big rock heroes, I didn't want to grow up and be some big sporting hero. My heroes were ordinary people and the people that I have a lot of respect for are just solid everyday people - people you can rely on"

Ya you know though, with all evidence of quotations, know one will really know the true meaning of the song, only the person whom created it. its simple really.

is it true that theirs to sets of drums used in this song? thats what my ex told me i think. anyways this song is awesome i heard it in not another teen movie first which sounds bad but i loved it its my fave foo fighters songs. I reckon the start of the song is about kurt because its talking about photos and evidence and concequences so i think maybe its about his death and the contreversy kind of thing, but then i think the rest is about ordinary every day heros and the video kind of shows that aspect.

actually this song was not written for Kurt. I'm not positive about the guys name who wrote it but i do know that it was written for a guy, Adam Trollinger that was killed a while back in New Braunfels, Texas. The guy that wrote it tried getting someone to do the song for him and the Foo Fighters happened to hear it while in Austin and from then on it's history... Don't believe me? do some damn research! -Macy

I think this song represents all the things he was going through after Kurt died. Once he did this song he was willing to let people know how he was feeling about that. it took him some time to make a song like this so.. personal. i think that anyone who was friends with kurt cobain, had so many things going trough their head, but instead Dave decided to write it in a song... i love this song... and i give him respect for the fact that he recognize that thanks to kurt he did a lot of great things...

alright, im not sure where you're getting your info from. yes it sounds like it should be about kurt cobain, we all would like to think that. the fact is, the song is about a hockey player dave grew up watching. i think he was a defenseman for the caps, i cant remember. he was just someone who was ordinary. dont question my loyalty to dave either. i went to the same high school he did (although he left after a couple years to join scream). i have mucho dirt on him.

yeah, lots of people say foo songs are about kurt. maybe one or two, but i doubt this one is. it doesn't really fit kurt, cuz he wasn't exactly ordinary. i think this song is more like a trbute to all of the normal people who don't consider themselves extraordinary
but just go through life and face their problems.

And the rest of you call yourself Foos Fans! Well yes, the rocks. But it's not about Kurt Cobain. It's about Dave Grohl's dad. Not every foos song is related to Kurt Cobain or nirvana!!
