He's a fashion victim of his own time
In his "vintage suit" and tie
He's a casualty dressed to the teeth
In the latest genocide
The new seasons come and go
At the dog and pony show
Gonna sit and beg and fetch the names
And follow the dress codes
What's in a name?...Hey!

She's a scented magazine
Looking sharp and living clean
Living well and dressed to kill
But she looks like hell to me

So when you're dancing through your wardrobe
Do the anorex-a go-go
Cloaked with style
For pedophiles as the credit card explodes

You auctioned off your life
For the "most" expensive price
Going once...
Going twice...
Now it's gone

You auctioned off your life
For the "most" expensive price
Going once...
Going twice...
Now it's gone

What's in a name, hey?
What's in a name, hey?
What's in a name?

General Comment:Whats in a name? really? its so true. it shows how people are constantly trying to impress others with brand name clothes and everything to make them look better, but in reality its like the fashion is taking control of THEm... and turning them into a slave for whatever thr trend is... hence the song title. Amazing song, i totally agree with it.

General Comment:I adore this song. It's right in every sense about pop culture today. Kids will buy Abercrombie/Hollister/etc. clothes just to impress people and make them like them and even take it a step further with people feeling like they have to be skinny in the "anorex-a-go-go" line. And OxSunnE22 explained the "What's in a name?" line perfectly before. When I first heard that I knew it was refering to the Romeo & Juliet line but meaning towards the clothes and fads today that you shouldn't like someone for the brand of clothes they wear but for who they are. I think this song and "Prosthetic Head" are great for emphasizing the point of how people are so fake today and just follow the latest trends and fads to make themselves more cool or popular.

General Comment:Fashion is killing us? We're already dead.....

I agree with OxSunnE22 on the meaning, I havent heard this song yet but Im sure its a great one.

Warning was released in 2000, before American Idiot. And anyway, wasnt American Idiot's most listened to songs more political than anything? Im confusing myself typing this so Im gonna stop now...
