Once, when I was listening to this song, I produced some cum. Now, whenever I hear this song,I always produce cum, I've started to fill a jam jar up with the cum i produce. It's nearly full. When it reaches the brim I'll just fill another one up. Does anyone else do this? maybe with another song, not just basketcase?

I think everyone can relate to this song at some point......i reckon it's about being stoned, or maybe just about having panic attacks etc......i don't know, whatever it's about this song kicks ass, green day always did, and they will continue to, there's so much argument about whether their old or new stuff is better, i love both! i mean, come on they are getting older, the songwriting is going to mature! i love both, but thats just my opinion.
I also love the way the bass comes in on this song, how the hell can a bass note be so affective? i don't know, but nevertheless green day rock!

i'm not sure if this has been mentioned but i remember hearing that this song was based on the book "the catcher in the rye" which i've also heard is one of billie joe's favorite books..."the catcher in the rye" is my favorite book and i think that this song, which is also one of my favorite green day songs, does have a lot of similarities to it

Didn't get a chance to read everyone's posting, but this song is actually about billie joe, he actually is paranoid. Don't know if anyone else mentioned that, but yeah...that's what this song is about. As for what category to place green day under? Who cares, whatever category you put it under means, they invented it, so pick whatever it doesn't matter, they revolutionized that genre.

This song is the best for me and when i come around too. I can't believe avril covered this song thats so annoying. I know she likes them but....

Moving on...its about billie joes panic attack 9 which had been type for several times now

You are right, in a way shiro, some people do think that American Idiot is Green Day's first album, and thats pretty stupid. But people dont have to be Green Day's number one fan, and they dont have to know EVERYTHING about Green Day, to be a fan of Basket Case
