as if this song doesn't make you hyper it's like billiejoe's being a lazy bastard and this songs like a plea for someone to get him to do something with his wasted fuckin time. not just nag at him to do something but actually HELP him do it.
this song got me into green day i first heard it at the start of summer vacation and i was too lazy to do anything, my friends were all workin and my mum kept naggin me to get a job but i couldn't have been fuckd so this song was kinda perfect for me at the time

I've got/had a friend that is the pinnacle of this type of laziness. He dropped out of school as soon as he could(he was intelligent though), and just sits in his house...he won't come out....ever...hasn't got a job..his mom and dad are always out...yet he never asks anyone over...i kinda invited myself over last week and he looked like shit...he fantasises over this girl he didn't have the guts to ask out at school - his room is brim full of porno mags. He used to be quite sound but now he's a grumpy fuck - kinda feel sorry for him....i think every1 goes throu' a time like that - but maybe not so extreme.

This song is the anthem of all teenagers everywhere...you're so bored you're going crazy, but hey you're not alone in that. And they touch on a controversial issue, but it isn't all about that...it's just saying that hey it's O.K., it's perfectly normal. Whenever I'm bored I play this as loud as possible on my CD player and sing along..it raises my spirits.
