  Song Meaning:a father is in a way a tour guide to his son. "I'll show you everything".
  
  But know there is a deeper parallel meaning too. The arms wide open are a metaphor for the cross. It's about a father who will sacrifice for his kids, just as the savior sacrificed for his.
  
  It's about fatherhood and Christian salvation all at once. Very clever song.

  General Comment:I’m a writer and I have an artistic state of mind so I tend to carefully consider songs, pictures, stories, etcetera and try figuring out what the deep meanings are.
  
  "Well I just heard the news today/It seems my life is going to change/I close my eyes, begin to pray/Then tears of joy stream down my face"
  what I get from this is that a boy and his girlfriend are still young, high schoolers, and had gotten intimate one night; he unintentionally got her pregnant and she informs him about it. at first he's scared because he's going to be a father- "my life is going to change". "I close my eyes, begin to pray"- he's hoping that everything will be all right due to how young they are. "then tears of joy stream down my face"- in spite of everything he's happy that they are going to create a product of their love.
  “Well I don’t know if I’m ready/to be the man I have to be/I’ll take a breath, I’ll take her by my side/we stand in awe, we’ve created life”
  I think he’s rather scared about becoming a father because he doesn’t know if he is mature enough to “be the man [he has] to be”. but he “takes a breath” and refuses to leave the girl’s side. “We stand in awe, we’ve created life”- the pregnancy goes fine and the two of them fall in love with their child at first sight. “now everything has changed”- becoming a parent really changes your life around and you need to start thinking differently.
  “if I had just one wish/only one demand/I hope he’s not like me/I hope he understands/”
  They only “negative” thought he holds at this point is that he hopes his son (I’m going by the wording) does not make the same mistake that he had done. I think the line “I hope he understands” is him saying that just because the parents had made a foolish mistake (but obviously do not regret their son all the same) that it is not all right for his son to pull the same reckless act and dig himself in to the same rut.
  I think the rest of the song is virtually self-explanatory.

  General Comment:Going to be a dad for the first time in Jan 2013. This song means a lot to me .

  Song Meaning:I've known this song for years but only now I really listened to it and got it that it's about him having a baby.

  General Comment:I swear i was watching this video on youtube and i seen the eye of horus at least twice

  General Comment:Not a big fan of Creed, I'm more of a Pearl Jam fan myself, but this is an amazing song. It's so powerful and poignant. I love it.

  My Opinion:well i have read some offb the blogs and think myself that the meening is he is having a baby . i will also say to all those moronsw that can complaine about this singer is in it for the money or this o or that theese people need to grow up .if you disaprove of creeds morals or resone they are singing then dont buy there albums . but to any extent heres the real secret they are in it for the money WHAT IS RONG WITH THAT NOW GROW UP AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AND ENJOY
