Lyrics for ...As The Future Repeats Today as interpreted by -L3tH4L-

...As The Future Repeats Today Lyrics
There's no place that still remains
Just deserted space all left in gray
Why did we lose, the knowledge of time?
Is this the price, the hell we pay?
The poisoned fear known to man
is he who try to find his path
The collective force blaming you
"This is the day we split in half"

Thrown to the gallow, forgotten and sore
sworn to be different in what way I can
The sultry taste that is special to me
is the last gleeful glimpse of a bitter man

Down and troubled, in search for better days
Back to the beginning, I'm at the end
All my time, compressed to itching moments
as the future repeats today

So impressed, lost the faith in all I had
Broken down, I'm on my way to be dissolved

The hopes and prays of things to come
I've lost them all with glory
Urgent to aim for that short-lived joy
I see gold in all that lies before me

And so we ignore the beggars cup
Praise your act in the Grand Finale
Teach the unborn the winners sign
a welcome grin to the world Royal
populated by fathom less and unbearable

This song didn't immediately hit me as good, but once I listened to it a few times, I really got into it. In my opinion, one of the best on the Clayman album.

The meaning I get from it is that the narrator has made many mistakes in his life trying to better his standard of living, but in doing so, has destroyed himself. But, it seems as the song closes, he still hasn't really learned the lesson.

i have the album, and it says "
For so long I tried to be like you, Pushed aside with no time to evolve..", By the way this is probably one of the best on the album. My fav would be Another Day In Quicksand, or Swim.

I agree with d_e4life. I reckon it's about all the wrong things and wrong choices the narrator's made and even if he's faced with the same problem again later, he seems to take the route he did before, even though he knows it's wrong. It's almost like a guy who never wins.

I think it's basically saying the usual "learn from your mistakes" stuff that you hear so often...But he makes it cool instead of using the common "learn from the past" he looks at it as if we're doing today the same we will in the future cuz we never learn...

the line "as the future repeats today" could mean that the writer is expecting to make mistakes and make them again in the future and not learn from them.

there is no clear meaning but it seems like someone is confined and speak about the world in their own view..deserted space left in gray.
"Is this the price, the hell we pay?" it is like a prisoner being thrown into jail and compares his experience in confinement to human life. for him every day is repetitive and full of suffering. he will know his life will end with death eventually after the cycle of repetetiveness.
"The poisoned fear known to man
is he who try to find his path" for making "mistakes" humans have been punished, in this case confined.
"Thrown to the gallow, forgotten and sore
sworn to be different in what way I can" He swears to himself to change, but it is too late as he recalls his last glimpse of himself as a bitter man.
Just from the beginning of his life, hes already at the end with timeless "itching moments" until his life is gone.
seems a thief like in medieval ages trying to steal gold,"aiming for that short lived joy" and seeing himself in the future, impressed with himself, visualizing gold in all that lies before him.

And so we ignore the beggars cup
Praise your act in the Grand Finale
Teach the unborn the winners sign
a welcome grin to the world Royal

In the real world, successful people just walk by the "beggars",people that made terrible "mistakes", all stemming from a source from the beginning of mankind, making mistakes leading to consequences to a miserable life.
For the last 3 lines, he sees the punishment of people(life confinement in this song) that make terrible mistakes the same as not being born at all. he sees life not worth living unless you will be a "winner" throughout your life. "welcome grin to the world Royal" is the way mentioned before, the grim consequences of doing a primal crime such as rape, murder, and robbery is a harsh reality of how people are welcomed to the world. consequences of such actions leads to a life of compressed to everlasting "itching moments" like the person in the song.

This is my own interpretation.

++++++++++++
+1st Stanza+ (1st section with 4 lines)
++++++++++++

This is a representation of a person whom is changing their personality.
However, unlike previously mentioned in the 1st Couplet, this change
is the person's own desire to do so. From this decision, he/she decides to
isolate themself until they believe they're ready to face the world. As
for the sexual desire, well if you were lonely you probably would want a
prostitute for SOME KIND OF temporary human relationship, even if it's just
sex. It is a characteristic that develops from the isolation and it is
the person's last hope of joy.

+++++++++++++++++++++
+2nd Stanza (Chorus)+
+++++++++++++++++++++

It's pretty self-explanatory, however I will elaborate anyway.
The person believes something good will come from all of this
so they search for it whatever it may be, but they're at the starting point of
this process which would make one feel as though they're on the edge
of life, "Im at the end again". Still, the effects within the person's
current lifestyle is that time does not exist (see 1st octave, 2nd couplet)
and the only moments he/she recognizes are the bad ones, the "itching"
moments if you will. "all of my time, compressed to itching moments".

+++++++++++++
+2nd Couplet+
+++++++++++++

As for the second couplet within the entire song (poem), this is simply
an after effect from all the depression that has amounted from the person
feeling like they're in exile. Because of this, the person whom wished to
seek some form of happiness or relief now gives up.

++++++++++++
+3rd Stanza+
++++++++++++

This connects with the 2nd couplet by stating the person gives up on life.
The only solution from all of this angst and depression for the person is to inject some kind of
narcotic into their body which results in a hallucination of seeing things that are miraculous
to the depressed person's eye. All of this ends as the poem leads into the 4th and final stanza when
the person becomes a continual abuser of narcotics and becomes a fanatic in his/her own mind.

++++++++++++
+4th Stanza+
++++++++++++

The person is now unaware of the reality around them. He/she thinks that he/she will
still succeed in life, but now it's all an illusion, an illusion to hide the fact that
the person lives in a depressed reality, a reality which he/she feels as though there
is no acceptance for him/her.

+++++++++++++++++++++
+Summarization/Moral+
+++++++++++++++++++++
The basic moral of this song, (even though it doesnt reflect on what im about to say)
is that you need to learn to stand up for yourself.
This song reflects on every negative aspect of what could happen if you decide to go
down the path of corruption. If the actions of one person whom
you were obsessed with truly affected your lifestyle in a negative way, then you have
to do something about it.

Im sorry, I didnt add all of it, again this is my own interpretation.

+++++++++++++
+1st Couplet+ (1st two lines)
+++++++++++++

This signifies someone's desire to be something
they're not. The only reason is because they yearn
for that person probably because he/she is an icon
of comfort. However he/she has denied him/her because
he/she knows that he/she is trying to be someone they're
not. So the story of angst continues on with the first octave.

++++++++++++
+1st Octave+ (1st section with 8 lines)
++++++++++++

All these are metaphors of what he/she is feeling from
rejection. For every two lines (couplets) describes a certain
feeling.

The first couplet describes the person's view on human
society itself, it's a mess that no human can truly understand
because of it's vast complexity. Because of that, he/she feels like
he's/she's all alone and doesnt belong anywhere with anyone.
Thus the explanation of, "No place that still remains,
shattered space all left in grey."

The second couplet of the octave describes the person's depression
and how they respond to it. This depression would relate to how the
person feels like he/she has no acceptance in human society.
Anyway, usually when one is depressed, they lose
all connection with the world, even with time itself because they
believe it's all the samestuff over and over again.

Through the third couplet, we see that it describes the lack of
confidence in oneself in order to complete his/her goals that would
supposedly make him/her a happier person in life which then leads to
the final couplet of the octave. This section forms up all the anger
and hate built up inside from the lack of motivated action in their
lives caused by their fear. This precedes to the next stanza.
