Feel the vibe,
Feel the terror,
Feel the pain,
It's driving me insane.
I can't fake,
For God's sake why am I driving in the wrong lane
Trouble is my middle name.
But in the end I'm not too bad
Can someone tell me if it's wrong to be so mad about you

Mad about you,
Mad

Are you the fishy wine that will give me a headache in the morning
Or just a dark blue land mine that explode without a decent warning.
Give me all your true hate and I'll translate it in our bed,
Into never seen passion, never seen passion
That is why I am so mad about you

Mad about you,
Mad

Trouble is your middle name.
But at the end you're not too bad
Can someone tell me if it's wrong to be so mad about you

Mad about you
Mad about you
Mad about you
Mad about you

Give me all your true hate and I'll translate it in our bed,
Into never seen passion, never seen passion
That is why I am so mad about you

Mad about you
Mad about you
Mad about you
Mad about you
Mad about you
Mad about you

General Comment:I heard that the song is about a love affair many people have with marijuana. That explains the EU music video. Of course, it could have double meaning, but parts of the song seem to make sense in context with weed, she's 'driving in the wrong lane' because she can't 'fake'.. She needs her quick fix. But this could also apply to a relationship.. Since the overused cliche of the comparison between drugs & love makes sense.

General Comment:I was sent this song by someone I am in a twisted relationship with. Am thinking he might have been telling me it was wrong of us to have feelings for the other, but agree that the songs talks of feelings that are intense and significant. Interesting as this person was not able to verbalize his very well.

General Comment:Perfect song... The ultimate trip-hop sound, which I absolutely love. I've been searching it for years, having no clue who the title or the name of the band was. Then yesterday I suddenly heard it on the radio, listened closely to the lyrics, picked the 'mad about you' part and typed it on google.

Hooverphonic reminded me of Portishead (Glory Box) the very first time I heard the song and still do. Portishead is one of the singer's musical influences, as I found on Wikipedia.

General Comment:I think the song is pretty straightforward in its lyrics, but has anyone seen the music video? THAT totally confused me...

    General Comment:I love this song...
My favourite part is "Give me all your true hate and I'll translate it in our bed, into never seen the passion"

Anyway, I think she knows she may be wrong but can't help being mad about him. She does well if you want my opinion xD, they are both in troubleee. Perfect for each other.. :P
Reminds me of my situation for sure :>

General Comment:This song screams out the emotions of love and being madly in love with someone and the verse 'give me all your true hate and I'll translate it in your bed' brings a sexual and slightly masochistic/sadistic element to it... possibly meaning that really... the person the singer is mad about isn't expressing much love in return, hence the melancholic and despairing sound of the song... beautiful though, I love sad-sounding minor keys... hehe... anyway... this song is basically about someone being head over heels and helplessly in love with a person but has a certain madness and obsession to it... that it could be considered scary and unhealthy by some people.

General Comment:This song is really beautiful. The lyrics tend to be poetic, and I agree with kowgum that her voice is really awsome, and the melody, sounding jazzy, matches perfectly with. Of course it has simple meaning, because being crazily in love with somebody is one of the most simple things- it happens, and that's the way it is; you can't explain it, translate it or explore its roots and purposes. This song expresses really beautiful this perplexly simple situation, and I love it.

General Comment:besides alaira, you should kinda get what they're singing about... I mean, they're not easy songs to get, but there ARE evry clear meanings in most their songs.

General Comment:i just wanted to note that people from belgium and the netherlands (speaking flemish and dutch which is the same difference as american and brittish english, so actually the same) speak english pretty well. We are exposed to the language from a very young age through music and films. We always use subtitels and never dub, which means, from the moment we start watching tv, we are exposed to the language, which means it comes quite natural to most of us. Hooverphonic does not just scramble words together, they can however be somewhat freaky ;)
