watch your mouth
hold your tongue, boy
because you're running out of breath
running out of time
before every careless word that you utter
renders you utterly useless
now you're drowning in your own saliva
trying to speak yourself to the top of your hardcore world
well, keep on talking
just keep on rambling
you've got your mouth full
now listen, here's the pleasant part
you and i, we fell apart
now listen, here's the pleasant part
you and i, we fell apart
why can't you make up your mind?
why can't you make up your mind?
shut your mouth
burn your bridges
throw your words like an attack
stab me in the . . . wait a second
what's that i just heard?
never mind, it's obviously useless now
you're standing on your soapbox
yelling from the rooftops
everything you say is a lie
a lie, a lie lie lie, yeah
now listen, here's the clever one
who speaks before his thoughts are done
now listen, here's the clever one
who speaks before his thoughts are done
why can't you make up your mind?
why can't you make up your mind?
watch your mouth
hold your tongue
some things are better left unsaid
now i hope you're pleased
you let your pride stand tall
it danced within your words
right before your fall
why don't you
why don't you say that to my face?
i've had it ripped out, torn down
so many fakes
every thing you
every time you
every word you say
if i told you this was killing me
would you, would you stop?
hold your tongue, boy
because you're running out of breath
running out of time
before every careless word that you utter
renders you utterly useless
now you're drowning in your own saliva
trying to speak yourself to the top of your hardcore world
well, keep on talking

who speaks before his thoughts are done
...says it all. slow it down people. speak less, think more
I think its about the writer battling with himself, thinking about trying to tell his girlfriend the way he feels when she broke up with him with no valid explanation. He wants her back, but ends up being impulsive, because he's so pissed off and she's killing him inside. ("hold your tongue boy") So he says things he's been trying to say to her for awhile, but hasn't had the courage to say. So when they break up, the words end up coming out very harsh. He ends up screwing up every chance of getting back together by saying things he didn't really mean or things that came out too harsh.
-thats from my experience, but anyway, i did end up getting her back. Please give me some feedback on this one. thanks for your time.

now you're standing on your soapbox yelling from the rooftops

now listen here's the clever one
who speaks before his thoughts are done
(x2)
why can't you make up your mind(x2)
watch your mouth
hold your tongue
some things are better left unsaid.
watch your mouth (now i hope you're pleased)
hold your tongue (you let your pride stand tall)
some things are better left unsaid (it danced within your words)
(right before your fall)
Right before you
why don't you say that to my face
I've had to rip down, tore down, so many things(?),
everything you, everytime you, every word you say,
if i told you this was killing me would you, would you stop?
almost think i should just post it as another lyric page all together...
but i don't think it's about a bf/gf. but someone of higher status. brother.. father.. boss.. best friend.. etc. i could picture an ex best friend, who used to be best friend material, but met new people and changed. now he lies, hangs out with the wrong croud, says all the wrong things and plenty other things mentioned in the song.. yet all these things are hurting him.
"when someone steps with hate, all i do is just scoff."
