I slowly shoot these words like weapons
And go insane
I watch you drive your stupid car
You go away
You were never one to use caution
It slipped away
You know I’d love to see it happen

Chorus:
Happy Death day to you baby
I know you’re flying in the blue now
We’ll be together real soon now baby, don’t you worry
Papa’s got a brand new body bag for you

Cable cars run through my mind
Reminiscent Bay
I always tried to keep you near me
Without the pain
I love to tie us into knots
We slipped away
I tried to captivate you, on that evening
He was leaving, with the girl I’d like to kill

Chorus

And I got a fresh new kind of attitude

I slowly shoot these words like weapons
And go insane
I watch you drive your stupid car
You go away
You were never one to use caution
It slipped away
You know I’d love to see it happen

Chorus

And he ain’t ever ever coming back to you

My Interpretation:He loves a girl who leaves him for another. He kills her, celebrates, and then kills himself (maybe?).

    Or:

Same thing but, he wants to kill her, and maybe kills himself.

General Comment:It may just because it's my current issue, but I think it's a song about drunk driving. I don't know if any of you are against alcohol, but if you are and you've fallen for a woman who just so happens to be a drinker, it's a pretty rough road. I'm also hinting at a love tringle deal, but honestly, I'm just guessing. And as I said, currently this fit my personal experience best, so.

General Comment:I think the meaning of the song is that he broke up with this girl that left him for another man and he's telling her that now that she has left him, she is now dead to him. And yea she's happy now "flying in the blue", on cloud nine or whatever but one day so will he, he will be happy again too and when that day comes she will die all over again but in a new body bag, a bag that means now she is completely dead and he will never think of her again because now he's happy too. And even though it hurts, it has to happen, just like death.

General Comment:Maybe I'm stupid, but I always thought the song meant he had a son who died. That's what I pictured as soon as I heard it. I guess I took "Papa" and "Daddy" literally. I'm not even sure why I thought of a son rather than a daughter.
I'm not a huge fan of aaf, so I wouldn't know whether he did ever have a child. But it never occured to me it could be about anything else.

General Comment:mongroid is right, this song is about sayign you would like someone dead, but realizing you would be devestated if they were to actually die. Right from Dryden's mouth.

General Comment:The lyrics are somehow wrong. the first chorus is set after the second main part and there are missing some lines after the first chorus. and there are also some wrong words. He's singing "And gonna pay" instead of "It slipped away" in the first main part, but "It slipped away" would be correct in the third. and in the second main part he's singing "with the girl i'd love to kill" instead of "i'd like".

General Comment:It's a very sinister song, more so because it sounds like it is a cheery song, judging by the music and the way the chorus resolves in a major key. You could easliy sing along with it then a chill runs through you as you realise what the lyrics are! The guy was consumed with jealousy and imagines killing his girl, even though he loves her still...that's what I think anyway!

General Comment:its like, he doesn't want to be anywhere near her for w/e reason and then like, he doesn't want her there, but then on the other hand he wants her everywhere. she prolly plays with his head and he gets mad but like he still loves her. bc when he is without her is totally miserable and realizes that without her forever he would be devistated.
