Love and hate, get it wrong
She cut me right back down to size
Sleep the day, let it fade
Who was there to take your place
No one knows, never will
Mostly me, but mostly you
What do you say, do you do
When it all comes down

Cause I don't want to come back
Down from this cloud
It's taken me all this time to find out

Cause I don't want to come back
Down from this cloud
It's taken me all this time

There is no blame only shame
When you beg you just complain
The more I come more I try
All police are paranoid
So am I, so's the future
So are you, be a creature
What do you say do you do when it all comes down
(rpt 1, 2, 1...)

Song Meaning:love and hate get it wrong cut me right back down to size....

referring to shooting up crack "love" to get high, and heroin "hate" to come back down.. obviously if you get your dose of either wrong its going to have a very negative effect. \

sleep the day let it fade, who was there to take your place...

its better to sleep it off then to have to interact as yourself in front of people who might not recognize who you are while high...

i dont wanna come back down from this cloud, its taken me all this time to find out what i need...

meaning the user has finally gotten everything right to where he now achieves his or her perfect state of euphoria, also possibly adding that he finally found the sources to attain his drugs for this specific occasion..

why do you why do you/..

askin why he or cannot let go or give up the drugs or why they cannot let go of him or why they let him come back down which feels 1000 times worse than how he may have felt prior to shooting up

General Comment:Definitely seems like heroin addiction to me. People have touched on most lines but I'll just add a couple more. When he says 'sleep the day, let it fade" means he is trying to sleep while he is coming down, so he doesn't have to be awake to feel the pain. The last verse basically talks about his fear of this never ending. He continues to use heroin to not feel the comedown or withdraw but at the same time is thinking about his future and is worried he's going to continue to be a "creature" of habit.

General Comment:this song is defenitly about herion and shooting up (needles) coming down means to come down from a high. in the music video the band has ruber tubes on there instuments drug users use them to cut off circulation (tie off) i can see how non drug users wouldnt understand but take it from someone who uses, the terms used in the song are every day drug slang

General Comment:To me this song is clearly about opiate use and the ups and downs of addiction. Right from the start, love and hate. He obviously loves the high he gets when first using., unfortunately he hates the "comedown' when he loses the intence sensation just as much...I also feel as though he is speaking directly to his heroin, which I found quite genious as far as song writing is concerned. Once he slleps the high fades and though I'm not certain, when he says "who was thereb to take your place, he may be referring to either attempting to reignite the high with either alcohol or another drug. In many cases herion is a very secretive addition due to stigma, sham, and fear. By stating "No one knows, never will. Mostly me mostly you", I again feel as though he is speaking directly to the heroin...One more feeling I get from rhe lyrics in Comedown is that this may have been referring to the first time he used, or in the very beginning of his use due to the lyrics, "took me all this time to find out what I need."...When it comes right down(no pun intended) to this song I think it's genious and find Gavin's words brilliant and very easy to relate to in my case.

General Comment:This song is about doing heroine. The Comedown is the feeling after shooting up and the high has worn off. It's (so I've heard) the worst feeling in the world, basically like all conceivable happiness has been ripped out of you.

General Comment:I'm not sure what its about. i cant make up my mind, it either love or drugs. Drugs obviously for the obvious you don't want to come down when your high. But i lean more towards it being love becasue of the lines
    mostly me but mostly you
"what do you say do you do
    when it all comes down",
"i don't want to come back down from this cloud
    taken me all this time",and
"why do you" at the end.I dont know how those lines could be related to drugs.

General Comment:it sounds to me like he's saying "shoot up" right before the second "love and hate get it wrong", leading me to believe its about drugs. He also talks about sleeping all day and police, which also = drugs. Possibly heroine, which is often referred to as a "she"

still a fantastic song. some of the best songs are about drugs lol
