Oh yeah, she was taking me over
Oh yeah, it was the start of the summer
On warm June evenings
She would come to my house
Still in her school skirt
And her summer blouse
Talking too long as the night came on
It was the best time of my life
Her bee-stung lips
Kisses sweeter than wine
The things she whispered
With breathless sighs
The summer air was soft and warm
Her eyes were making silent demands
And as her hair came undone in my hands
Oh yeah, she was taking me over
Oh yeah, it was the start of the summer
Driving her home after midnight
I felt so good
Everything was all right
Her thoughts seemed lost in the night sky
I remember everything
I don't know why these things ever end
I sometimes wish it was that summer again
I still see her in my sleep
And hear the sighing of the summer wind
Still, I don't regret one thing
Oh yeah, she was taking me over
Oh yeah, it was the start of the summer
It felt just like it was the start of forever
Oh yeah, it was the start of the summer

    General Comment:Not to forget to mention;

"Still I don't regret one thing" = hypocrisy

General Comment:i really love the metaphor, "her see-stung lips", it creates a perfect image in my mind. Firstly, physically, i imagine the boy thought her lips were full, almost swollen, and deep red, but in an attractive way, maybe from too much kissing! because when you get stung from a bee it swells up...
and also i think the metaphor mainly means that her lips were stinging, they made his lips sting, but not in a bad way, but a nice, tingly sting leaving him aching for more..!
anyhu there's a bit of over-analysis from me hehe!

General Comment:maaan, when its horrible british midwinter and you read lyrics like this, about a sweet young summer romance, and it says 'warm june evenings' and 'the summer air was soft and warm' 'the sighing of the summer wind' and 'it felt just like it was the start of forever', it makes me feel so so sooooo sad and nostalgical for summer and those gorgeous summer evenings and aahh just happiness basically, winter sucks bigtime lol!

General Comment:really does sum up the opinions of most guys. its really good while it lasts. sometimes you look back on it and even though it went wrong and fell apart, you don't regret it
