    General Comment:Yes,yes George Lopez (Jorge Lopez)'s t.v.show theme song. But have you been in a low-rider man? I was and the hydraulics were burning a hole in the seat and they weren't working right so it was like going up and down while we were in the drive-thru and like it was really hard to take our order let alone give it to them.

    General Comment:There are many elements in this song that suggest and refer to several things. Overall, it is a reference to marijuana and getting high. Many of the lines suggest the sedative effects of marijuana:

    The low rider drives a little slower

    It seems that the title Low Rider and lyrics refer to the type of car by the same name, but the line:

    Low rider don't use no gas now

    Is evidence that the singer is referring to something other than a car. With an overall counter culture feel, the song suggests drug use and this line confirms that this song is not only about West coast Latin culture and Low Rider cars.

    So there are many levels to this song: West Coast Youth Latin Culture, Low Rider Cars, and sedative drugs most likely Marijuana. Once you are aware of the drug reference, you can't help to notice lines like the following as being references to that fact:

    General Comment:6stringfury pretty much summed it up- it's about the low riding that was happening around California, which really wasn't as bad as the ghost riding happening today. This song didn't spark the trend, but it went along with it (obviously).
