Lyrics for Colour My World as interpreted by Demau Senae

Colour My World Lyrics
As time goes on
I realize
Just what you mean
To me
And now
Now that you're near
Promise your love
That I've waited to share
And dreams
Of our moments together
Color my world with hope of loving you

Brilliance at its best! I forget who actually sings it in Chicago but for as short as the song is it's so powerful.

The song has got to be about the most powerful love in someone's life. To see something you've adored from a distance, because at one time you had it and took it for granted and to finally have it again but only this time you appreciate it.

The lead singer is Terry Kath, often referred to as the heart and soul of the band in it's early years. Some feel they were never the same when he accidently shot himself in 1978.

I've always thought that the title of this song was "As Time Goes By" which is actually a different one.

At least now I know.
I could really sing the whole verses without knowing the title...such a freak :)

I'm not trying to take anything from this song. The truth is that I have always thought that Chicago (Transit Authority as they were originally known until the CTA of Chicago sued them) was one of the truly great bands of the time and still could be. They were one of only three bands that I know of that made top 40 charts and used brass with BS&T being one of the other two and Hreb Alpert and the TJB being the other...yes, there were others but not ones who had the top 40 chart history of these three. Anyway, I stray from my point, and my point is that Chicago put out many beautiful lyrics and music because of the lyrics of James Pankow and his love of classical music. It was a derivation of a suite called "Ballet For a Girl in Buchannon". "Make Me Smile" was also written from this musical piece of Pankow's.
You can check all of this out by referring to Wikipedia - Chicago (band).
Enjoy the music of an extremely talented band and the history lesson is free.
