Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Zevon's longtime backers Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon, and Linda Rondstadt/Stone Poneys guitarist Kenny Edwards.
What you gonna tell your dad
It's like a wheel of fortune
What you gonna tell your dad
If this wheel lets you down
My love is my engine
And you might be fuel
Stop acting cool
Just bet you might win
I'm not too cool
We're gonna make you move
Don't push me
I don't want to can't you see it
Fast and slowly
And don't count your chicks
Before they're hatched baby
What you gonna tell your dad
It's like a wheel of fortune
What you gonna tell your dad
If this wheel lets you down
My love is my engine
And you might be fuel
Stop acting cool
Just bet you might win
I'm not too cool
Hey you,
We're gonna make you move
It tastes like steel
Like a stab from a knife
Ooh, what you gonna tell your daddy?
Ooh, whoa whoa
What you gonna tell your daddy?
Ooh, whoa
Say, what you gonna tell your daddy?
Mmm, oh, what you gonna tell your daddy?
Oooh, what you gonna tell your daddy?
I'm in love with another fool!
I'm in love with you, I like your style
I want you, I'm in love
I'm in love with you, I like your style
I want you, I'm in love
What you gonna tell your dad, it's like a wheel of fortune
And what you gonna tell your dad if itlet's you down, yeah
What you gonna tell your dad, it's like a wheel of fortune
And what you gonna tell your dad if this wheel let's you down?
My love is my engine and you might be fuel
Stop acting cool
Just bet you might win
I'm not too cool
I'm in love with another fool!
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
I'm in love with another fool!
Dad, dad, dad, daddy
I'm in love with you, I like your style
I want you, I'm in love
I'm in love with you, I like your style

The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
The remastered version of this song just kicks major ass!
Lyrics not too deep, but these songs are rather remarkable, at least for me and what they remind me of.
