She leads a lonely life
She leads a lonely life

When she woke up late in the morning light
And the day had just begun
She opened up her eyes and thought
"Oh, what a morning"
It's not a day for work
It's a day for catching tan
Just lying on the beach and having fun
She's going to get you

All that she wants is another baby
She's gone tomorrow, boy
All that she wants is another baby, yeah
All that she wants is another baby
She's gone tomorrow, boy
All that she wants is another baby, yeah

(All that she wants)
(All that she wants)

So if you are in sight and the day is right
She's the hunter, you're the fox
The gentle voice that talks to you
Won't talk forever
It is a night for passion
But the morning means goodbye
Beware of what is flashing in her eyes
She's going to get you

All that she wants is another baby
She's gone tomorrow, boy
All that she wants is another baby, yeah
All that she wants is another baby
She's gone tomorrow, boy
All that she wants is another baby, yeah (is another baby, yeah)

Ahh
Ahh

All that she wants is another baby (is another baby)
She's gone tomorrow, boy
All that she wants is another baby, yeah (is another baby, yeah)
All that she wants is another baby (is another baby)
She's gone tomorrow, boy
All that she wants is another baby, yeah (is another baby, yeah)

All that she wants
All that she wants

i think this song is about a girl who just play with boys, she's lonely, and i think she's sad, and she wants to have a lot of guys in just one night stand, and leave them in love with her at the next morning, she has evil ways, but she's not bad, she's just depressed.

Jeez, I can't believe how stupid I was - I always thought this was some bizarre song about a woman who wanted a baby - literally. The colloquial use of 'baby' did not occur to me with regards to this song. Another lover. So I always just thought it was an extremely odd song about an extremely weird woman. HA!

I LOVE this song! OMG the memories Ace of Base brings back, lmao. It's about a girl who's basically a vixen, and instead of working she likes to lounge around, get a tan, and treat herself like a queen. She's always on the lookout for guys, but she just wants some fun. She'll be with him for the night,ya know a one night stand, and then she's gone in the morning...ready for her next "baby"

I used to think this was about a girl who was going on holiday to find a man for a one-night stand so she could get pregnant and not have to have the guy around. And that 'another' baby was because she had a miscarriage or something. Man, my mind is a dark and horrible place.

i think this is about like a lady who is like missing something and she fills it with a guy. She wants to feel loved because she feels empty and the guy will make her feel loved for that one night of passion and than she'll leave and look for another baby to fill her soul.

The girl in this song reminds me of the chicks I see every day on the Maury Show-

Maury- "[Guy's name], you ARE the father!" ATSW Girl- "I told you dat's yo' baby! Pay me my child support! Where my money at?!?"

    My Interpretation

This song is exactly what it sounds like to me. As Heliamphora once thought it meant, she literally wants another baby, and it's a strange song about a strange woman. It has a very literal meaning for me and I cannot hear this song any other way. I know a woman exactly like this. She has given birth 5 times, each baby has a different father. The first one was given up for adoption, the next two are under custody of the fathers, and the two after that don't even know who their fathers are. It's a cycle for her, every six months she hooks up with a guy until she gets pregnant, then she kicks the guy out so she can keep the baby. Six months after the baby is born, she's starting over with another guy. It's really sad. It's a sad song about a woman with a serious mental illness and the men who fall victim to her wiles because they just want to help an "abused" welfare mom.

This song just came on the radio and reminded me about it. I miss these hearing it...it used to be on all the time...times change tho it seems. I don't think she wants a child, just a man, which it seems she'll be getting.

Yep. She always wanted a man and that's what she ended up with although most of the band members aren't so lucky. I'm so excited about the new album though! :)

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
