Since no-one's said what the meaning of this song is yet, I'll do the honours:

Basically, he starts a conversation which turns into a fight.
"When I talk about it, Ares or treason all renew" Ares was the Greek god of war and treason can often lead to wars.
"Big Me to talk about i, I could stand to provet" Being ironic about starting the conversation, sarcastically saying it took guts.
"If we can get around it I know that it's true" saying that if they make peace, then they can put this certain argument in the past and move on.

i think this song is probably about dave and his girl at that time and deciding whether or not to use a condom.

kinda lika a condom not feeling the same way as the real thing. But he wears it anyway because the Foo Fighters really try to emphasize the use of contraception during sex.

well, i agree with gleebs, this song makes me feel junior-high. i never knew the name of this song till one day i listened to it on launch, and i knew it. the part, "it's you i fell into" always stuck in my head because it reminds me of the night i heard it. i was just about to go to a dance when i listened, and i thought of this boy Bryce that would be there that i liked and for some reason i always think of him . i think it's a weird kind of love song
