    General Comment:john lennon said in an interview that this song is actually about prostitution. which is why he wrote the lyrics "ive been working like a dog." the man hasnt had enough money to support his wife's shopping addiction. so he has to resort to working the streets and keep his job as the ceo of a major corporation as well.

    General Comment:It's amazing how productive John Lennon was when he was under pressure to write a song. Taken from a quip Ringo used to say after a show, John turned the words around using the boy/girl thing that they cleverly used during Beatlemania. Nice opening with a contained single note. Paul sings a great middle 8. One of their finest co-works ever.

    General Comment:okay lets get 2 things straight

    ONE: fuck everyone who says early beatles suck. You suck. A lot of it wasn't even origional work, and the songs that were origional were sculpting rock and roll out of blues. What came next is only because of what they did origionally. Help, Rubber Soul, and Revolver are perhaps the greatest albums in history, which were made midway throught the beatles career. "nowhere man" "think for yourself" "eleanor rigby.....insane.

    TWO: im almost positive that this is about sex. it was at the height of their promiscuity and they were really having fun with it. what kind of work does a bealte do at night? think about it.

    STOP FUCKING THINKING BEATLES SONGS ARE ABOUT ACID!!! they didnt even do acid until 1967, this was written in 63. sgt pepper was really the first experimentation with it, which wasnt even during recording anyway, so even if they started out on drugs, in the studio they became something else
