Faster than a bullet
Terrifying scream
Enraged and full of anger
He is half man and half machine
Rides the metal monster
Breathing smoke and fire
Closing in with vengeance soaring high
He is the painkiller
This is the painkiller
Planets devastated
Mankind's on its knees
A savior comes from out the skies
In answer to their pleas
Through boiling clouds if thunder
Blasting bolts of steel
Evils going under deadly wheels
He is the painkiller
This is the painkiller
Faster then a laser bullet
Louder than an atom bomb
Chromium plated boiling metal
Brighter than a thousand suns
Flying high on rapture
Stronger free and brave
Nevermore encaptured
They've been brought back from the grave
With mankind resurrected
Forever to survive
Returns from Armageddon to the skies

General Comment:It's about a cyborg archangel of vengeance that's faster than a laser, and louder than an atom bomb, coming down from the skies on a motorcycle with a dragons head to save humanity and purge the planet of evil.

General Comment:Scratch the drug thing. leroybrownisbad is right. It probably is about Jesus and the Apocalypse. "A savior comes out the skies" "With mankind resurrected forever to survive. Returns from Armageddon to the skies" "HE! IS! THE PAINKILLER!" "THIS... IS... THE PAINKILLER" "CAN'T... STOP... THE... PAINKILLER!!!"

General Comment:This song sounds like early death metal actually. What do you mean the apocalypse and Jesus? Judas Priest is obviously talking about drugs. And by drugs, I don't mean the things those Democrats call drugs like Cigarettes, Sugar, Caffeine, and Alcohol. I mean real drugs like Angel Dust, Cocaine, Heroin, Meth, Marijuana (even though Marijuana isn't as lethal as the others). I mean, what do you think a painkiller is? A drug! There saying drugs are like a monster that causes destruction and death and the very last line Judas Priest says "Kids, stop the Painkiller!

General Comment:Song meaning? Halford is the painkiller, coming back to save metal and the band. They've never been a band for false shyness.

General Comment:This Metal Avenging Angel is pictured on both the album "Painkiller" and there best of "Metal Works".
Halford sung a lot of lyrics referring to a Metal Creature or sometimes referred to as a Metal God. This song has some of the most insane vocals and duel guitar work ever performed by Judas Priest.

General Comment:this song is clearly about a savior saving an oppressed people. its obviously modeled after jesus in armageddon, but it doesnt necessarily mean it IS jesus. but the parallels are obvious
