  General Comment:This song sounds like early death metal actually. What do you mean the apocalypse and Jesus? Judas Priest is obviously talking about drugs. And by drugs, I don't mean the things those Democrats call drugs like Cigarettes, Sugar, Caffeine, and Alcohol. I mean real drugs like Angel Dust, Cocaine, Heroin, Meth, Marijuana (even though Marijuana isn't as lethal as the others). I mean, what do you think a painkiller is? A drug! There saying drugs are like a monster that causes destruction and death and the very last line Judas Priest says "Kids, stop the Painkiller!

    I'd have to agree with swedxsimon, the latter half of the eighties metal really sucked, even Priest put out their worst albums at that time ( Turbo and Ram it Down) Metal needed a resurrection of sorts and Priest had to redeem themselves as well. And what better lyrical metaphor to use then the second coming of Christ. No other anticipated event in history brings as much awe or contempt at the same time. absolutely an awesome song. metalcrypt.com/pages/…

  General Comment:This Metal Avenging Angel is pictured on both the album "Painkiller" and there best of "Metal Works".
  Halford sung a lot of lyrics referring to a Metal Creature or sometimes referred to as a Metal God. This song has some of the most insane vocals and duel guitar work ever performed by Judas Priest.

    I disagree the ripper dude, tim owens is the best halford replacement hes even like a better halford (i only mean voice not artist)

  General Comment:this song is clearly about a savior saving an oppressed people. its obviously modeled after jesus in armageddon, but it doesnt necessarily mean it IS jesus. but the parallels are obvious
