Lyrics for Der Meister (english) as interpreted by John M

Der Meister (english) Lyrics
Run!

Since the master has sent us
We proclaim the end of us
Of the riders of inquinity
Feed his ulcer of envy

The truth is like a tempest
It comes to you and you can hear it
To announce the news is so bitter
And it's coming here to destroy it

Dying in the night as they lay
We announce the coming of Doomsday
No mercy will be shown
Run, run or be overthrown

The truth is a chorus of wind
No angel comes to avenge you
These days are your last
It will break you like little sticks
It comes to you as perdition

The truth is a chorus of wind
No angel comes to avenge you
These days are your last
It will break you like little sticks

To the writer of the previous post: Grow the hell up! Rammstein have always been called Nazi by people who know absolutely nothing, and still live in WW2. Most Germans are not Nazi. Rammstein infact wrote the song 'Links 2,3,4' to make fun of Nazis and the critics who called them Nazi, so I doubt that they would write a song about Hitler, huh?
Personally I think you comment is just because Rammstein are German.

Hey, perhaps it _could_ be about Hitler. Perhaps not. Just because you write a song about something or someone, doesn't mean you support that thing, or believe in it. It's just the subject matter of the song. It doesn't reflect the personal views of the band members. It's supposed to illustrate a point.

As for the song itself, I do think of it as being sung from a Nazi's point of view, but that's my opinion. Sue me. It's a disturbing song. I also like how they contrast the lyrics and the music. The lyrics are dark and brooding, impending of death and suffering. But then you got this soft church organ/bagpipe-ish melody in the background of the chorus. It's awesome. This shouldn't been one of Rammstein's hits, dispite the negativity it would've gotten them in reviews.

1) Rammstein aren't Nazis, their manager stops their concerts if people start doing the Nazi salute until they're thrown out of the concert.

2) Don't stereotype Germans as being Nazis, there are probably more Nazis in America than in Germany.

I'll go with the apocolypse theory ^_^

well, i'd agree w/apoclypse now theory, cause they say it...
...though i don't think it's right, another theory could be african american slaves being chased, and that would mean the end...
but the angels, the running, and the master (god, maybe that trinity thing...) all adds up...
