It's far beyond your reach, it holds a place in time
Somewhere ahead is the back of the time
I can't relate to your mistakes, awkwardly speaking with nothing to say

Caught up in your life, excuses are so lame
You maybe different but I'm still the same
The reasons that you thought, the intention that you caught
You say things are simple but we both know they're not
You can't let it go

Whoa

You can't but I know

Whoa, whoa you don't even know

It's not in what you do, more in what you say

A million questions asked the remnants of the past
You've always been denied, but always by your side
I've always tried to, to understand you
The worlds not learning from you

Whoa, whoa

It's not in what you do, more in what you say

General Comment:"It's far beyond your reach, it holds a place in time
Somewhere ahead is the back of the time"

This part sounds like when you are in an almost-relationship with someone, but then that begins to fall apart too, and so you think back to that time and place and realize there's very little either of you can do about it. In this instance the other person- even if they were to say, fall in love with them, it is still beyond their reach.

"I can't relate to your mistakes, awkwardly speaking with nothing to say"
Whatever caused the almost-relationship to not work out, the person can't understand why the person whom they fell in love with, why they made those mistakes. So they are talking it out but its just words and they're just left awkwardly speaking with nothing to say.

"Caught up in your life, excuses are so lame
You maybe different but I'm still the same
The reasons that you thought, the intention that you caught
You say things are simple but we both know they're not
    You can't let it go"
As life is going on, thinking back to what could have been, the person says things are more simple than they are.

Song Meaning:yeah like oregane morendo said. i had a relationship like this, you can't relate because you don't know how they feel. even if you did at one time - you have a different frame of mind now. "excuses are so lame" they probabaly lied, or tried to reason how they were by these excuses and they're tiresome. you get caught up in their life because they're bringing you down aswell.

"you've always been denied" maybe they feel like they've been dealt a bad hand in life and thats the way they feel the way the do, how they 'reason' it but also hints that there a bit self-indulgent and defeatist. and its not in what they do, its more what they say because they can be so great to you and then say the stupidist things. you try to understand them, because you want to relate and change them but you can never change someone they can only do it of their own accord "the worlds not learning from you", this isn't how everyone actually feels. and although they may mask their depression with arrogence - they have nothing to be arrogent about, no ones learning from them. because they're empty. and shallow. but at the end of it all they may feel different. but you can still be the same.

General Comment:Pretty good song. Anyone know what he means by "It's not in what you do, more in what you say." ? I always thought it was the other way around.

General Comment:Wow, did any of y'all even really try to interpret this song? Maybe its about this guy's friend who keeps on complaining about his/her life and says stuff like "this always happens to me" and "why?" and what-not. He/she is letting all this get him/her so down so they can't enjoy their time. Possibly their summer. So his/her friend, the singer, is trying to understand and relate...but just can't. He just doesn't have a negative attitude like his friend does. Basically, his friend is going through their own life troubles (the reason he says he can't relate). So while his friend keeps complaining, he can't help. And his friend just won't move on and let it go. The singer wants his friend to start learning from their mistakes and move on; stop complaining. Because while he/she complains, nothing is gonna get better, no-one's gonna wanna have you around (denied by your side) and it'll never change because no-one's learning from you. Like a broken record.

General Comment:To River Wolf: Sum 41's newest album is a lot like All Killer No Filler. Though, March of the Dogs is political, Deryk has stated that it will NOT be a political album.

General Comment:perhaps this song is about how summer is really really awesome and the rest of the year is terrible, especially winter, winter sucks

General Comment:Go Canadian music. I really like this song, it's playing on my comp right now. I think it's about two people who are friends (maybe even a couple) but are having communication issues

I wish Sum-41 hadn't sold out and was still doing music like this. That was their call though and not mine.
