Lyrics for Where Is My Mind? as interpreted by numb

Where Is My Mind? Lyrics
Oooh - stop

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
When there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind?

Way out in the water
See it swimming

I was swimming in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks
Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
Trying to talk to me, to me, to me

Where is my mind?
Way out in the water
See it swimming?

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
When there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind?

Ooh
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Ooh
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Ooh
Ooh

Did you just ask if he pixies were now sparta? Holy shit. Well, the pixies broke up in the early nineties, and At the Drive In (the band from whom sparta derives) broke up in the late nineties.. if that tells you anything.

To me, it's always seemed to be a song about losing control of your mind. Which is why it fit so well into that final scene in fight club.

i agree with xfifteenstiches, the other pixies songs have a handful of comments, and because this one song was in a couple of films everyone loves it. they were a great band who were responsible for a hell of a lot of other great bands, and they don't get the respect or recognition they deserve. kim went on to reform her old band the breeders with her sister, black francis changed his name to frank black and started a solo career, if that answers your "where are they now" questions.

damn right the pixies deserve respect. bands such as weezer, foo fighters, smashing pumpkins have all sited the pixies as inspiration. i guess it's good that this song means people are listening to more of their stuff. if you're new to the pixies i suggest you listen to some of their other classic stuff - like velouria, debaser, monkey gone to heaven or my personal favourite, motorway to roswell. the pixies are one of, if not, the greatest bands in the universe. anyways, that's what i think...

this is definitely one of those songs that you can listen to over and over. once i was in the shower (i have a shower radio) and it came on, and i was singing really loudly and my neighbors heard. it was a great time. seriously though, this is one of my favorite songs of all time by any band. it's just so....haunting and melodic.

I am like obssessed with this song!!! i don't really know why. I guess cause it is so diffrent and spacey. yay for the pixies.... btw, are the pixies now sparta? or part of the way sparta?

Hell no the pixies and At The Drive-In are totally different At The Drive In has more energy and much more obscure lyrics. Spartra is like a shitty version of at the drive in {when they split the bassist drummer and guitarist Jim formed Spartra} the best half of At The Drive-In {Omar and Cedric} formed the more evolved group The Mars Volta. Anyway back to the pixies the pixies are one of the most laid back groups to ever exist if you ever see footage of them live they don't move heh they are so laid back I love em!

This is one of my favourite songs and until recently i hadn't heard any other songs by the Pixies but there are so many!! THey might not blow you away immediately like 'Where is my mind?' but i would definately recommend the following which you will surely grow to love: Gigantic, River Euphrates (i love this one) and Caribou.
