    My Opinion:i think its being lost in an oblivian, or in other words your own little world, and not knowing how the hell to get back to the real world. the carribean part is probably just thrown in their cause he was thinking about the Carribean..... idk in other words

    My Opinion:With Fight Club, the lyrics makes perfect sense to me.
    It's about not knowing where your mind (goals, etc.) really is, especially in such a generation of advertisement, which is why the ending of that movie can really hammer a sense of emptiness in your head.
    On the other hand, the swimming part of the lyrics can be a smaller deal...
