Lyrics for Where Is My Mind? as interpreted by numb

Where Is My Mind? Lyrics
Oooh - stop

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
When there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind?

Way out in the water
See it swimming

I was swimming in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks
Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
Trying to talk to me, to me, to me

Where is my mind?
Way out in the water
See it swimming?

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
When there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind?

Ooh
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Ooh
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Ooh
Ooh

Imagine a life where you don't have to really think. Just go tripping through life. This is a song about such an idea.

This song can possess a number of different meanings. One possible statement that I derived from the first five of the song is that brake-dancers have no brains (sorry break-dancers). All jokes put aside, I believe this song is about daydreaming, a swimming mind, when you lose your brains to your thoughts and let it fly. This song with dull your senses and send your mind afly.
Where is my Mind, my favorite song by my favorite band, the Pixies, may the band rest in pieces.

this song is from the best movie ever---fight club----which alone makes the song great, aside from the songs natural greatness

Hm... I have no idea what Black Francis was thinking when he wrote this, but it's the Pixies' best. Seems like anyone who hears it is infatuated with it...

Gotta love this song! Fight Club rocks and this is the perfect song for it! I think it's about exploring ones own reality! trying to understand your own mind!

There is something unbelievably hypnotic about this song. "It's a great stoner song" to quote a friend of mine. Very true, but also a great song for those days when your mind is just up in the clouds somewhere.

It's a happy song about drowning... hahaha, that will only make sense if you've heard it and felt the same way.

this song was written when the singer took a trip to the Carribean and got stoned out of his mind with some natives of the area.

Like unorthadox says they got stoned out of their minds and droped acid. So I dont think this song has any particular meaning. But that doesent mean they dont kick ass . In my opinion the best songs are written by groups who do a crap load of drugs. This group (Pixies), Tool and Nirvana just to name a couple.

And they couldent have picked a better song for the ending of Fight Club.

I heard the song before I watched Fight Club, and I didn't even notice at first, but then I was like, "Whoa! This just makes the movie all the more kick ass! I love this song!" I'm gonna go with the same thing that some of the forst few said. I think it's basically about having no complex thoughts, and moving through life without your mind! I doubt it's about break dancers, but you have a point...

it makes me so mad that almost all of you posted on this song because its in fight club.. the song didnt come from the movie guys..it was out in the 90's.. the pixies totally dont get the respect they deserve for what they did musically.. they came on the scene in the late 80's and revolutionized the main stream sound.. thank them for grunge and alternative.. dont like one song because its in a good movie.. get any of their cds and like them because they are amazing.. go pick up the new cd of unreleased tracks, comming out july 9 rock the pixies because they deserve it

Ive always been a fan of the pixies, since before i listened to a lot of other music, but i only had the Doolittle CD. I SOOOOO rented fight club AND the adventures of Sebastian Cole (which is NOT anything like fight club : P ) the same night. They both had the song at the end of both movies. was sooo weird. awesome song
