    General Comment:I have to agree with Glen here, kill the christians please, all of them, purge the earth from the disease that is christianity.     General Comment:You should probably read my comment again, because I like jazz and classical, and mocked that guy for placing metal in the same category as them. And for someone who has his "head out of the 15th century," you seem quick to namecheck a classical artist. So do you like classical or not?

    And nerds are bereft of social grace, artistic insight, or aesthetic sensibilities. Anyone that thinks Deicide is a band to take seriously, a band with something profound to say, is a nerd, for instance.

    General Comment:nemo92: While I agree with your thoughtful response and appreciate your restraint, I have too much fun watching metalheads get defensive about their genre to not be a dick about it.

    Eli Bedlam: "Tongue in cheek" doesn't necessarily make it smart. The darkness in metal is still aesthetically retarded, even if it is ironic for some of the bands. Also, you putting metal in the same hierarchy as jazz and classical is...well, stunningly misguided. Playing chromatic scales really, really fast isn't art, it's masturbation. And ooh, tritones - that's still rebellious in the 21st century. There has never been a shred of innovation in metal, and copping superficialities from the most obvious classical sources doesn't count as musically interesting.

    But thank you for not putting prog rock on that list, too. Because that would've made it even nerdier.

    General Comment:What you dumbfucks don't realise is that in most cases, the so called 'darkness' in metal is tongue in cheek. Call us artless you prick? There three musical genres with the most technically skilled musicians, and musically interesting compositions are Jazz, Classical and Metal (in that order). Don't bother commenting on shit you don't like if you don't like it, you fucking geek.
