Up so close I never get to see your face.
Microscope I might as well be out in space.
Up so close I never get to see the view.
Down your throat I'm never sure if it's still you.

Up your nose down to your toes.
In your mouth way down south.
Up so close it seems I only think of you.
Up so close I never see the sky so blue.

I only wanted to be sure
That what it was was really pure.
I put my face down in the cake.
My feet were flailing in a lake.

Up so close, I never get to see your face.
Microscope, I might as well be out in space.
Up so close, I never get to see you.
Microscope, I'm never sure if it's still you.

General Comment:I interpreted this song in an entirely different way. When I first heard this song I thought about a long distance relationship. Two people constantly far away, and when they do see each other close up, they soak up every little detail of the other person. The second part of each line indicated the previous distance to me, rather than being "too close".

"I might as well be out in space"
"I never get to see the view"
"I'm never sure if it's still you"
"It's seems I only think of you"

That last line "Up so close, I never see the sky so blue" was the part that indicated that he was happy to be so close. It's as if the world around you is brighter now that the other person is there. In the very end of the song I hear him say "oh it's so sad." Long distance couples get that little time together, but they always have to go back to being far away.

General Comment:i think that this song definitely adresses oral sex with lyrics like "way down south" but "down your throat" and "in your mouth" for example i think are about kissing. so it's about how in general when your being intimate with somone you can't really see them cus you're too close.
it's why i can't help but peek somtimes when i kiss.

General Comment:Might just be my personal experience speaking here but it sounds like this song could be about being so close to someone that you lose sight of other things in your life, though he sort of makes it sexual so I don't know what to think.

General Comment:no, jawbreaker, stoney's right - c'mon, "way down south" - i don't think that it gets any clearer then that.

He never sees the girl he's with, because he's always "up so close"...to her vagina, that is.

General Comment:I think you are retarded.
But, you might have a point...
    then again probably not.

General Comment:Is it me or is this song about oral sex???? "I put my face down in the cake" He's up so close to her down there he can't see her face. Then he talks about down her throat, she must return the favor!!!!!!!! *sigh* So deep and meaningful.
