Lyrics for Vitamin C as interpreted by Songmeaningsuser

Vitamin C Lyrics
Her daddy got a big aeroplane,
Her mommy holds all the family cash,
A beautiful blows, I stay at the corner,
She is living in and out of tune.

Hey you,
You’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing your vitamin C.
Hey you,
You’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing your vitamin C,
Your vitamin C.

And at Christmas riding on her pony
Or she is stepping on the pigman’s head,
A beautiful blows, I stay at the corner,
She is living in and out of tune.

Hey you,
You’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing your vitamin C.
Hey you,
You’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing your vitamin C,
Your vitamin C.

Hey you,
You’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing your vitamin C.
Hey you,
You’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing, you’re losing your vitamin C.

I found these lyrics which seem to make (a little) more sense:
Her daddy's got a big aeroplane
He mummy holds all the family cash
A beautiful rose is standing in the comer
She is living in or out of tune

Hey you, you're losing, you're losing,
You're losing, you're losing your Vitamin C

Giant press machine one her body
She is stepping on a quicksand
A beautiful rose standing in the comer
She is living in or out of tune

Hey you, you're losing, you're losing,
You're losing, you're losing your Vitamin C

My interpretation (there are some many ways to go)... The second line contradicts the first, If her mom has all the money, how's her dad able to afford an airplane? Hence forth it's a metaphor for having his 'Head in the sky' (the adjective big is patronizing as if talking about a crazy person). Her mom has all the money and therefore is controlling and obsessed about order. Whilst the song mentions he parents they are a metaphor for her schizophrenic mind (there is an internal conflict going on in her between order and chaos)(the song has a sort of alternating feel to it). Next line she is compared to a beautiful rose, which means she is unique and special (because of her instability). She is living in and out of tune simply is talking about the state of her mind.

'Losing your vitamin C' well vitamin C is an antibiotic. Losing it would create chaos and allow all sorts of wierd/dangerous bacteria/pathogens to develop.

Finally the first two lines of the second verse of the song are different from the first verse, however they mean the same thing. The first line talks about her being crushed and confined by a too organized lifestyle. While the second line talks about he being sucked into the unknown.

I missed Damo Suzuki last night at the knitting factory in NYC... I had two tickets but I couldn't make it.. :(

Anyways I think this song is about a girl and what Timo bi Kismet said "Health is far more imporatant than wealth!"
nice rhyme [laugh]

And at Christmas riding on her pony
Or she is stepping on the pigman’s head,

it sounds to me like his saying something about her birthday, not a pony. and that shes stepping on quicksand, not a pigmans head. just my 2cents

To me the girl was brought up in a rich family, doesnt know about reality cos she is not familiar with the other side of the coin.
Shes getting increasingly ill (you're losing your Vitamin C) and instead of buying Vitamin C which is much cheaper than all the other things she possesses, she rolls in money.

-->Health is far more important than wealth! (oh, theres a rhyme to it ;-), what about a new motto?!) :-)

I don't know why... but this song is irresistable.

CAN didn't release a bad song between 1971 and 1973...

It seems to be about a girl brought up in a rich family. By growing up in such a lifestyle, she's been sheltered from how the world really is, thus she's "living in and out of tune" and is losing her "vitamin C."

That's the best I could come up with.
