walking by...hmm..well my opinion, and simply put, is the lack of understanding...i know exactly what soco was saying with this...when you lose something to close and near to your soul and suddenly its gone...all you have left are questions...and you never get your answers...and thats all you need...to stop you heart of its bleeding. I don't think he ever got his answers...i think hes just letting whoever this girl is know.

On another note, this song doesn't necessarily mean relationship break up to me. It makes me think of someone frustrated because they person they love doesn't love them back.

"I could stay here all day, but that's not how you feel." proves my point, as well as "What did I do that you can't seem to want me?"

I don't understand what they mean by "cheshire cat doorstop" though. Any thoughts?

This song is great. It doesn't beat "Konstantine" but it's close. I know there've been comments on "Konstantine" being the song that every SoCo fan thinks they HAVE to love, but "Konstantine" introduced me to Something Corporate...and nothing compares to it.

i freaking love this song. this was pretty much the one song that got me all started on SC. i can't even pick my favorite lyric cuz the whole SONG is good lyrics, particularly the last chorus. its just wonderful. the emotion in it is great and the piano is beautiful... *sigh*

This is easily my favorite SoCo song of all time. Lately, I've just been listening to it, and it literally leaves me breathless--momentarily, of course. It's the prettiest song I've ever heard, and...I have to hear it now. Hold on. Okay...So, lately I've just been staying up all night...And before I go to sleep, I just listen to the song...And I'm just astounded. It's the most amazing song I've ever heard, and the way Andrew sings it give me chills...And with the music, and the piano in particular...The most simple sounding piano part making it so much prettier in its simplicity. If that made any sense, of course. It's just giving me the most empty feeling in my heart, while being content all the same.

and another thing, i know im rambling but it makes me feel better....the line where he says, "And why do you look when you've already found it?"...it seems as though the person hes with is in love with him but not totally confident in the relationship, when andrew knows that the relationship is real and will be successful...it just makes me think..and cry..and im in school and people are starting to stare..lol

i cry too when i hear it, to me its about a guy and a girl, and one of them has to move on with their life, leaving the other behind, but not necessarily wanting to, it makes me think of my boyfriend having to leave for college and im younger, so im left behind, it just makes me sad, but its still one of their best songs

This song makes me cry when I listen to it, except then I think about how the girl Andrew wrote it for decided to give him a second chance and, as far as I know, they're still together. At that point, I laugh at myself for being so sappy, think "You devil, you" (to Andrew, not to myself), and hope that I can get the guy that's walking by to stop a little as well.

SOCO IS AMAZING. all their songs are insanely good. i can relate to like all of them. and their songs have a different sound than a lot of other music out there.

good god, i love this song...the emotion in it gets me everytime, and the waltz-y beat makes me wanna dance! seriously though, its a really sad song that kinda makes me feel upbeat at the same time *realises this makes me sound insane* i'm not 100% about the lyrics, but i love them, and the way that the tell the story of two or three generations living and loving is great...i think that this is one of those great songs that just makes everyone who hears it break down a little inside, but feel better for it...

Notice the way they have these lyrics in the song.."why do you leave these stories unfinished?" and "why do you leave when you've already found me?". The part where he's talking about the girl's family's lives..that story never finishes. So I think that he's talking about how the girl never finishes what she started - especially their relationship. Sadness =X.

That's MY fave part of the song. Man, the first time I heard it I just went WOW, and I think I listened to it about 5 times in a row. It just makes you wanna grab someone ya love and slowdance. :)

That lyric isn't any sort of lovey/relationship type of deal but it is so amazing....it's not exactly a lyric you can relate to persay (like "And these nights I get high just from breathing...") but you still have to admit that that line is really well written...and just fricking kickass

i'd love to see this song live, both times I've seen soco though they haven't played it.....has anyone ever heard it live?

Another AMAZING soco song. The violins and piano really bring out the meaning of the song I think. I miss seeing these guys in concert. My friend went to their show in Pittsburgh in Feb. and she said that they opened with Konstantine....I wanted to cry when I found out because I'm in Scotland now....but I'm very happy to hear that they'll be in Glasgow in June....I can't wait!

that line makes me think so much about my ex-bf. i know he loves me, and he does too, but he's got that "grass is greener on the other side" syndrom. when he gets happy and settles down, he feels like he should be looking for something more. it kills me...i want so badly to ask him, why he looks when he's already got what he's looking for.

This song hits me really hard, especially after reading everyone's comments. Andrew's story ended happily...but in most cases, singing a song won't make someone love you.

This song was written for anyone who has ever loved someone who left them... Andrew crafted this song perfectly to pull the strings of every fan's heart. The lyrical genius combined with the vocal talent brings a tear the eye. This song brings back old memories. This is truly a heartfelt and meaningful song.

wow there is something about this song that brings a tear to my eye everytime i hear it. maybe its andrews voice when he gets it nice and high i dont know i guess its just amazing i saw SoCo at warped tour last year and they were rad live preformers as well i love these guys...
