I have what I feel one true love in this life and she is no longer mine. but we still remain close than ever. This song is every time that we spend together, you see she lives in NY and I in OH and we don't see eac other often, but I could play this song every night for the rest of my life and never have it mean anything less than that.

Oh geesh, I love this song. I've loved it ever since I heard it the first time when I downloaded it. I loved it so much when I bought the Album "Leaving Through The Window", i had to buy "Audioboxer" as well! It just makes me feel differnt when I listen to it. This is a song that you need to listen to and add for your music collection!

I actually like this song better than konstantine... Dont get my wrong, konstantine is a great song and i LOVE it. But this song is a little better written. Its a little easier to understand what hes trying to get across. And also, when he sings this song on the album.. he really pours his heart into it... And when i saw them in concert.. and the played Konstantine... it just didnt seem like he was really into it... I love both songs... keep it up SoCo

This song can fit into so many scenarios revolving around un-returned emotions---personally it hits me hard, bc its always as if my gf isnt all there, and i know the relationship doesnt mean half as much to her as it does to me... this song fits it so perfectly..."why don't you care"

ok WOW after reading all of those... I'm going to start off with my proclaimation of everloving faith to something corporate. If you ever catch me saying something bad about them, get help... alright, with that taken care of, NFG808, props to your observation, in concert they dont seem to like konstantine... I mean, they must be sick of the konstant "KONSTANTINE" chants from all the girls throwing their bras at them... I mean, in the beginning (PRE-walking by) it was touted as the ballad of ballads, which i agree with, (PRE-WALKING BY) butit was given such a reputation, underground though it may be, that if you want to LOVE sc, you HAVE to love konstantine when, especially looking at the konstantine page on this site, it doesnt seem like many people even ATTEMPT to get it, throwing away popular belief, throwing away the "emo" answer of "it just is." throwing away the chants from the frazzled girls in heat, konstantine is wonderful, but for me, it will never be Walking By. I saw these guys play at HOB in chicago. It was the most amazing experience of my life, and will remain to be until i have a heart to heart conversation with andrew, with a dual respect, and i dont see that happening anytime soon. Anyway, a lot of people say they cant listen to this song without crying, and that one kid who was like "crying isnt talent" makes me want to smack him. I dont cry durring songs because theyre songs, i cry from my emotions at the time, but this song is different, I don't know what it is, it's not hte lyrics, something about the music that makes this song pump your soul of the impurities and pain that you've harnessed for so long, every time, thats how it is for me at least. At the HOB show ( for whoever knows what a HOB venue is like, tis is more hard hitting...) on the slowest parts ( i remember specifically "and these nights") I just looked up at the ceiling and cried. Yeah, boohoo, crying in the dark, *emo* right? I can't explain it, you had to be there (and might have been!) but I just looked straight up, silently cried, while I was wedged between hundreds of hardcore soco fans in a sweaty room with fancy lights in the middle of downtown chicago, where someone was being mugged a block away, someone was having sex a block away, someone was breaking up a block away, someone was breaking down a block away, someone was watching an off broadway musical, a porno flick, a cartoon and an art film a block away, and I'm listening to this song, to my life, to everyone's life. I stopped singing along, and started to understand. That's the only way I can share teh experience. I apoligize for the sad attempt, but I'm no andrew myself. I've fear in my smile.

Ok I just have to say wow ktsmerzly, that is really deep and i know what your saying exactly..couldnt have said it better myself. i love SoCo and have for some time now....havent heard a song I didnt like by them and I'd have to say Walking By is one of my favorites. I can wait to see them August 15th at the warped tour. SoCo Forever.

I love this song! It's so good! It just put's me in a good mood. I love Something Corperate! I think that they are one of the best bands around here! I love them to death! They are just so good! This song is just so gr8! I think so much of it. The lyrics are pretty good too. The instrumental is so good! This song is truely good Emo Music! I think that Something Corperate is by far one of the best bands around today! They are just so gr8 and along with this song! SO GOOD! I love Something Corperate so fucking much! Truely an amazing band! Luv them to death!

SC went to my high schOOl DANA HILLS!! yAAy and i've sEEn them playie...they're so gOOd and their lyrics are amazing!! i'd have to deFFinetly sayie that this is my ultimate favorite song!! it reminds me of what it fEEls liek to lOOse or afriend...or just lOOse anyhting in general...and how much it hurts to lOOk back on somehting and have aLL these memories to kEEp breaking YoUr heart over and over and over again...

to me this song means kinda like.....this guy and girl are really close and he knows pretty much everything about her...hence the references to the mother and grandad....okay and well they are just so close and he thinks/knows they are perfect for eachother, and so hes like, why arent together when im right here in front of you!?..."Why do you look when you’ve already found me?..." .........thats just what i think.........

Wow. I cannot stop listening to this song. This whole song just tears me up when I listen to it, but there are certain parts that really get to me. I could listen to this song on repeat forever. It's so perfect for what I'm going through now in every possible way...feeling completely alone and unwanted is absolutely the worst feeling I have ever felt, and this song is helping me get through it.

"Why do you look when you’ve already found me? What did you find that could leave you walking by?" Not wanting them to leave because you feel that you're supposed to be together, but they don't feel the same way... "I could stay here all day but that’s not how you feel." Loving someone so much, and not getting the feeling returned... "And what did I do that you can’t seem to want me?" Feeling like the only possible reason for them leaving is all your fault, you're the one that did something wrong, all blame is on you... "Where can I go that your pictures won’t haunt me? What makes it so easy for you to be walking by?" Knowing that you can't stop thinking about them, everything you see or think of reminds you of them...you're still in love, but they're already over you, and you aren't getting them back...

I dunno. That's what this song means to me right now...

A few of you have mentioned how this song is about Andrew's current girlfriend--and as heartwrenching and emotional as this song definitely is, I love it SO much more when you pay attention to that part--it's about his CURRENT girlfriend. It had a happy ending. The song talks about all the pain he felt before they were together, and how he knew they were destined for each other, and he expressed his feelings so well in this song that she realized it too. It gives me some hope that someday the guy who is walking by me right now will see what I see... that there is nobody else out there for either one of us. So, yeah, I just wanted to point that out, that the song is really sad and all, but Andrew & his girlfriend have been happily together for a long time now, all thanks to his not giving up on her and writing her such a beautiful song.

Im sorry, i gotta post on this song again... When my ex-girlfriend and i met we both really loved this song.. So, it became "our" song... I loved her so much.. and i still havent stopped loving her. We broke up because she cheated on me... But, surprisingly enough, i dont care. I love her too much to let that get in the way of how i feel about her, and she doesnt understand that. Anyway, i love this song so much... Listening to it now, that were apart just breaks my heart... "And where can i go?, that your pictures wont haunt me".. *sigh*.. Stephanie, if you ever read this, i love you so much... Cheer up emo kid? yeah right... I wouldnt be an emo kid if i was cheery. I love this band...

this just sums up my life, about wanting to be with someone and thinking that you can't have them. sucks. but hell, andrew ended up with the girl he wrote this for, and i may end up with the guy i want too. ok i'll stop melting now. this is my favorite soco song, and they're my favorite band. out----------------april
