Lyrics for Seventy Times 7 as interpreted by BrandNew1208

Seventy Times 7 Lyrics
Back in school they never taught us what we needed to know
Like how to deal with despair or someone breakin' your heart
For twelve years I've held it all together, but a night like this is beggin' to pull me apart
I played it quiet, left you deep in conversation
I felt un-cool and hung out around the kitchen
I remember I kept thinking that I know you never would
And now I know I want to kill you like only a best friend could

Everyone's caught on to everything you do
Everyone's caught on to

As if it happening wasn't enough I got to go and write a song
Just to remind myself how bad it sucked
Ignore the sun, covers over my head
Wrote a message on my pillow that says, "Jesse, stay asleep in bed"
Don't apologize (I hope you choke and die)
Search yourself for something with which to hang yourself
They say you need to pray
If you want to go to heaven
But they don't tell you what to say
When your whole life has gone to Hell

Everyone's caught on to everything you do
Everyone's caught on to...
(and I can't let you let me down again)
Everyone's caught on to everything you do
(and I can't let you let me down again)
Everyone's caught on to...

So is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with
'cause I've seen more spine in jellyfish
I've seen more guts in eleven-year-old kids
Have another drink and drive yourself home
I hope there's ice on all the roads
And you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt
And again when your head goes through the windshield

Is that what you call tact?
You're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back
So let's end this call and end this conversation
And is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with
'Cause you left the frays from the ties you severed
When you say, "best friends means friends forever"

Is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with
'cause I've seen more spine in jellyfish
I've seen more guts on eleven-year-old kids
Have another drink and drive yourself home
I hope there's ice on all the roads
And you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt,
And again your head goes through the windshield

(I can't let you let me down again)
Everyone's caught on to everything you do
(and I can't let you let me down again)
Everyone's caught on to...
(I can't let you let me down again)
Everyone's caught on to everything you do
(and I can't let you let me down again)
Everyone's caught on to...

Ahhhh!!!

This is perhaps one of the most intense and powerful songs ive ever read/heard. Brand New fucking rock my ass off and sure know how to write songs that capture the anger in a failed relationship. I'd like to send this song out to Janessa.

This song is ever more powerful when you listen to the other side... Taking Back Sunday "There's no I in team". Both of these songs rock.

Wow, I'm a tacking back sunday fan and when I read about how the TBS song "Theres No I in Team" was a response to this song, i just had to hear this because that song is so fucking powerful its scary. This song is almost equally impressive, especially at the end. The first half of the song is really upbeat and poppy so its hard to hear the emotion in the words, but just wait for that breakdown and bam, great stuff

this song is about the same thing as the shower scene. the lead singer of Brand New's girlfriend cheated on him with his best friend.

The moment I read this I instantly began to cry. The emotions that Jesse felt flooded my mind, but jumpstarted my heart. Keep your head up Jesse

i wanna send this song out to my cousin, alex. 2 years ago, he almost killed me older brother. so, fuck you alex. maybe everyone else can forgive you, but i can't. you could've killed the only one of them who cared about me. i really do hope your head goes through that windsheild, you bitch. and then, i can spit on your grave and laugh at your funeral, just like i've been planning.

i tried to make myself forgive me cousin...but every time i tried, i just saw that night over and over. i couldn't forget. i just couldn't give up. everyone else just said "well, he didn't die. it's ok. we'll be fine" they just glazed it over, pretended to forget. but i couldn't.

Glennsarmychick, I am sorry for your family's rough brush with death, but I feel that a message board for song lyrics is hardly the place to vent emotions. However ,I would like you to continue this story because I am quite curios as how this accident did go down.

well, my brother's going to turn 20 soon. i have an older cousin, alex, and the two used to be close. 2 years ago, we were visiting him. he took my brother (illegally) to a rave. my brother almost ODed. So, while my brother was passed out and dying, Alex drove him to the hospital. Only problem was, alex was drunk and on drugs. So, they got into a horrible accident. Do you realize how scary that was? I was only 10, and my brother was hanging on for his life in a hospital bed. I know I shouldn't have written all that shit on the board, but this song really hits me. it just hurts to think about.

glennsarmychick...i'm sure your cousin Alex didn't shove the drugs down your brother's throat....and i'm sure he didn't drag him kicking and screaming to the rave. Your cousin tried to do what he could to save your brother...and you should be thankful for that.

wow this song is great...i just downloaded it a few days ago and it is really good...yeah i'm a big taking back sunday fan too...they fucking rule man...this song kicks ass and if anyone has any more kick ass bands that i should hear then email me with some of them because i'm a little underexposed because va sucks and everyone hates all of the good bands...if only i could bring myself to like rap or the kottonmouth kings i'd be good...no offense but kottonmouth kings SUCK...they stand for some good stuff but they have a horrible sound and it just sounds like shit and maybe if they could invent some better lyrics than shit that just says 'hey i smoked this and that and this and blah blah smoke pot blah' in every single song then maybe i'd like them a little more..sorry about venting on this comment...this sin't the place for my anti kottonmouth kings opinions...heh
