Its time to say a word
Say it like you mean it
He spoke with his song of hearts
As my eyes hold back
Hoping for the end
One too many condescending battles for a friend

Say another word
And I'll sit on the floor
Keep talking down to me
Your not only losing me
Your losing what's in store

I'll try to stay awake
When I go
When I get home
I'll try to stay awake
Over the phone
So I can tell the truth
Tell the truth

Something keeps on getting in the way
Between you and I on summer holiday yeah
Just wait one minute more
'Cause my heart is halfway torn and your already gone
And your already gone

I'll try to stay awake (so I can tell you)
When I go
When I get home
I'll try to stay awake (so I can tell you)
Over the phone
So I can tell the truth

Say another word
Face first on the floor
Keep talking down to me
Losing what was almost meant to be

I'll try to stay awake (so I can tell you)
When I go
When I get home
I'll try to stay awake (so I can tell you)
Over the phone
So I can tell the truth

General Comment:The lyrics in the first verse are wrong. They should be:

t's time to say a word.
Say it like you mean it,
She spoke with a tone of hurt.
    As my eyes rolled back,
    Hoping for the end.
One too many condescending battles for a friend.

    Either way, amazing song

General Comment:This song to me is about someone whos "fed up" with how they are being treated. They've had one too many condescending battles to take and still be able to get along with someone. They'll just "sit on the floor" because they've given up, they're restless. They are telling the other person to keep treating them that way cuz they are losing them.. they are losing whats in store, all the great things they could have been, but since they keep talking down to them and treating them bad, they dont have as much desire to be with them. They will try to put effot and stay on the phone, but only to tell the truth - that they are through. "Just wait one minute more because my heart is halfway torn and you're already gone..." They are asking if they can at least put a little but of effort into fixing it b/c their heart is halfway torn, but halfway still in love, still wanting more. But the other one is already gone, too caught up in their issues to try.
