Lyrics for Pride & Joy as interpreted by pollock

Pride & Joy Lyrics
Well you've heard about love givin' sight to the blind
My baby's lovin' cause the sun to shine
She's my sweet little thang....She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby....I'm her little lover boy

Yeah I love my baby....Heart and soul
Love like ours won't never grow old
She's my sweet little thang....She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby....I'm her little lover boy

Yeah I love my lady....She's long and lean
You mess with her....You'll see a man get mean
She's my sweet little thang....She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby....I'm her little lover boy

Well I love my baby....Like the finest wine
Stick with her until the end of time
She's my sweet little thang....She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby....I'm her little lover boy

Yeah I love my baby....Heart and soul
Love like ours won't never grow old
She's my sweet little thang....She's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby....I'm her little lover boy

you know what else is so fucking unbelievable? people rate an amazing guitarist nonetheless, eric clapton, number one. SRV is probably THE BEST. Hendrix ranks one in enfluence, not skill, and number two in enfluence is Van Halen. You can count on that to the bank.

I would put someone like Kirk Hammet, Randy Rhodes, or Dimebag Darell above Eddie Van Halen. Dunno why, probably because that kinda music is a bit....Gay? Not that he isn't an awesome guitar player, it's just he played cheesey songs.

is that right? hey bud, read the guitar world, if you don't have it i can scan it for you. dimebag and hammet were inspired by EVH. oh shit, wait a second, randy fucking rhodes fingertapped too. who made that popular? EVH. man all those guitarists you listed fucking idolize EVH. i didn't say he was number 2 in skill, he is number 2 in enfluence. man he's inspired os many people. me personally, when i was younger, and i first heard eruption i was like "whoa, shit man, this is awesome! i have to learn how the hell to play that" man that's what most people say, including dime kurt and zakk wylde. anyway what i wanted to add was that eric clapton shoukld have died with SRV, they were touring when the heli accident happened, and to eric's advantage he was late for the ride.

Eruption has WAY too many effects, a delay to make it sound like he's playing faster than he really is.

No need to get all pissy, not my fault Van Halen played gay music ;P

Just when I think I've read the stupidest post ever, you go and post another. You should offer your posting style to hospital operating theatres as a highly-effective alternative to unconsciousness-inducing medications.

Keep typing. Maybe, someday, you'll randomly type something semi-intelligent. I see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself on the Internet. If you knew what you're talking about, you'd be dangerous. As Abba Eban so aptly said: "His ignorance is encyclopedic."

You are about as entertaining as watching grass grow in a windowbox. What do you do for a living? You are living, aren't you? Genius does what it must, talent does what it can, and you had best do what you're told, you dyslexic lobotomy patient. Maybe you wouldn't read like such a pathetic loser if that pimple on your ass hadn't turned out to be a brain tumor; if your weren't so fat that when you stand on the weighing scale, it reads: "Sorry, we don't weigh livestock.", or if you didn't have a face that makes Medusa look like a supermodel. No, come to think of it, you would.

To sum up: I'd rather pass the world's largest kidney stone than read another post from you.

i think the last guy had it summed up, or was he talking to me? oh well.. just to get it straight the ONLY effects in ERUPTION are the following:

distortion, reverb, slow-phase shifting(aka delay)... may I ask do you play guitar? if so how can you downgrade eruption? can YOU personally play it up to speed(even though i was wrong, he is playing slow with delay to sound fast)? or have you even heard eruption before i posted it? nice try jackass...

RavenBlackBow, keep browsin' through your dictionary buddy. 1. You never even posted who, or what you were talking about so no one knows? 2. The time it took you to make that meaningless post, is well...Sad?

Anyhow, zsp2 no need to call names man. Yes I play guitar, I love guitar. I buy things with my own money, I bought a Epiphone Les Paul copy off my buddy for 100 bucks, it plays good enough for me.

Eddie Van Halen was/is an AMAZING guitar player, the riffs he comes up with are great. I'm just not a fan of their music, at all, I hate it in fact. I think his talent could have been better displayed in another band.

And yeah, I listened to Eruption after I saw it rated like number 2 in Guitar World's greatest solos of all time. It's good yeah, but would have been better without the delay. And no I couldn't play it, and don't wanna take the time.

Dude I tried to be respectful but you're a fuckin idiot.

No I can't, nor do I WANT to play the damn song. Just because I can't play it makes it the best?? You're a moron, the same guy who says Led Zeppelin didn't write "Stairway To Heaven" and the John Lennon tried to cut a fans throat.

I never said Eruption sucks, I'm sure not everyone can play it. I think that it was over-rated by Guitar World when they named it Number 2 solo of all time. And I called VH gay it was a joke, not to be taken literal. But you're entitled to your opnions, even if they are fucking stupid, mind-less thoughts.

Forget posting again because I probably won't bother reading. Hopefully a legitimate Stevie Ray fan will come in and bring us back to talking about SRV.

Peace out

I can't beleive you would come back and say I'm talking out of my ass after I made a post I was hoping would end the arguing. If you want to be like a little immature kid, keep arguing. Oher wise let's drop it, SRV wouldn't want us polluting his board with use-less arguments.

to get it straight, you fucking idiot, the john lennon was story WAS true, it's in Walk This Way the Aerosmith auto-biography, and, popular to idiot's beliefs, stairway to heaven wasn't written by led zeppelin. it was written by some old country fucking artist. and who the fuck are you to judge my musical tastes.. and I quote "a legitimate Stevie Ray fan will come in and bring us back to talking about SRV." what the fuck makes you think i'm not one. you're the jackass, you fucking ignorant little twat. i state my opinions, not to catch bullshit from you, but to state facts built into my opinions. i never once lied. fuck off, you little shit. get your shit straight before you fuckin tell me i'm wrong

Lol, I wish I could delete the post I made earlier. Guitarist is right, immature. Neither of us are right or wrong. Enoughs enough.

I put Stevie Ray number 1 in my book. There's no lyrics to Texas Flodd on here, which is amazing. I like "Pride and Joy" better for the singing aspect, but Texas Flood for guitar playing.

Just 1 line from Texas Flood is more complicated than most guitarists entire solos. Someone should post lyrics for that song.

It's Kirk Hammett.

And I dunno Pollock, do you know him well enough to call him a genius? Get out your dictionary and look up the word incongruous.

And again, I regret the posts I made earlier, they were stupid for a lack of a better word. Eddie Van Halen is an AMAZING musician, I should have just said I like SRV better :\

Some people are just assholes. Music is nothing to argue about. I think once you get to a certain point, you are good. I will say that IMHO Stevie Ray, Randy Rhodes, EVH, Dimebag Darrell, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix.. all the musicians out there. They're all great in their own respect. I will pay my debts to SRV and say that he single-handedly, along with Zakk Wylde, showed me Pentatonics can have so much soul. Zakk and SRV borrowed alot of their pentatonic chops from Hendrix, and Hendrix from Blues players before him. It's all a big cycle. We borrow from our heros and twist their licks into our own. Nothing to bicker about.

Cheers, people. Drink a few and mellow out. Send a few shots to Dimebag. I know he'd do the same for you.

Great song, Pride & Joy though. Simple and effective. Very effective. RIP SRV.. All my fallen brothers.

if you think 3 chords for every song is complicated then FUCK...SRV isnt even in the top ten of greatest guitarists or most influential...jimmy paige, eric clapton, jack johnson, tim reynolds, and lets not forget the most incredible guitarist ever, Ben Weinman of dillinger escape plan (though there music isnt of taste to most, it is the most complicated of this century)

The Great thing about Rock is what it means to everyone individually... The discussion taking place here is completely unneccessary... As Far as I can tell... Muzzy simply listed some guitarists that he felt were better then Eddie Van Halen... And he is right because that is how he feels... It's not like their is some sort of world recognized Grading or scoring that takes place... What does the guitarist mean to you... Does he blow you away... People tell me that Chet Atkins is perhaps the best ever... It's not my cup of tea so he's not in MY rankings... Neil Young has said that there is no one in the same Room as Jimi Hendrix and there never will be... Personally, I think Jimi is a little over the top for me... BUT THAT IS JUST MY OPINION... Yet I love some of his songs... Little Wing is perhaps one of all time favorites...

Stevie is without doubt one of personal favorites... He personally saved me from life as a Foreigner Fan... The 80's in MY OPINION was a horrible decade for music... Synth was dominating the landscape and here comes Stevie Ray... A light in the Darkness... The First time I heard Stevie I put my Foreigner Records away for good at age 18 and I realized that Rock and Roll had another level... From there I Found Zeppelin, The Who, Jimi, Everyone... Stevie caused me to Join a Band... Start a career in radio... When I think back... Stevie Ray Vaughan may have been the reason that my life is so heavily invested in Rock and Roll to this day at age 39... That's what Stevie meant to me...

Who's the greatest ever... Who Knows... It's doesn't matter because everyone has an opinion...

So, ZPS2 you really should stop acting like a know it all and be respectful... It's great that you play Guitar just like the other million or so who can strum but it doesn't make you an expert on how Muzzy should feel... Be respectful...
