Royal Canadian blended
The spicy aroma had mended me
Matured for years and imported
Into my glass you poured it

And you're the only reason
That I remain unfrozen
Suppose it stands to reason
That you would turn on me

You're so solid
You're so solid
It burns inside of me
Cause you're so solid
It burns inside of me

And Wild Turkey's been chosen
It's caramel nose can smell me
Arbourler/Jameson, I love you
The single malts came burning

And you're the only reason
That I remain unfrozen
Suppose it stands to reason
That you would turn on me

You're so solid
You're so solid
It burns inside of me
Cause you're so solid
It burns inside of me

General Comment:Just listening to Matt take all those quick, erratic breaths makes me light-headed. But I love his voice and I love this song. Confused me terribly when I started listening to the lyrics, though.

    Royal Canadian blended,
the spicy aroma had mended me.
    Matured for years and imported,
into my glass you poured it.
And you're the only reason that I remain unfrozen.
    Suppose it stands to reason
that you would turn on me.

    You're so solid,
    You're so solid,
It burns inside of me, cos you're so solid,
    It burns inside of me.

    Wild Turkey's been chosen,
its caramel nose can smell me,
    Arbourler, Jameson I love you,
    the single malts come burning.
And you're the only reason that I remain unfrozen.
    Suppose it stands to reason
that you would turn on me.

    You're so solid,
    You're so solid,
It burns inside of me, cos you're so solid,
    It burns inside of me.

    Royal Canadian blended,
the spicy aroma had mended me.
And you're the only reason that I remain unfrozen.
    Suppose it stands to reason
that you would turn on me.

    You're so solid,
    You're so solid,
It burns inside of me, cos you're so solid,
    It burns inside me.

General Comment:It's obviously about alchohol, but I dont really get the impression its about a drinking problem exactly.

General Comment:Ne one else think that in the second verse when Matt sings "it's caramel nose can smell me" the NOSE sounds Australian?

General Comment:Into my glass you poured it

"You" is not the same as "it".

    It burns inside of me
    'Cause you're so solid

Again, "you" is not "it". "You" causes him to drink "it". Hence I'm sure the song is about alcoholism or just a drowning of sorrows. It makes sense in the rest of the song, like

    And you're the only reason
    That I remain unfrozen

As mentioned, alcohol freezes at lower temperatures than most things (think of its use in cars). "Remaining unfrozen" is done by drinking alcohol, which in turn is caused by "you".

Kinda makes sense with the rest of the album, too, doesn't it?

General Comment:I'm not going to hazard a guess as to what the parallels of the song are: alcoholism, romance, desperation, but I will say one thing: all the terms he uses are from the linguistic field of whiskey, specifically, not just alcohol in general.

Wild Turkey, Jameson, Crown Royal (Canadian Blended), single malts, caramel nose, the burning sensation: all references to whisky and whisky drinking. Arbourler may well be whisky, though not one I'm familiar with.

General Comment:P.S. I think the song means he's addicted to someone's company. The company being precious and warm like a good whisky. But once all goes bad he resents that person and compares it to alcohol adiction, "turn on me". Like he's having the hangover from hell after a fight with someone he respects very much.
