Great song though.
If the restrictions are religion, age, race, or whatever that does not matter to anybody else, the heart will tell you that those barriers are no big deals at all.
However, if the restrictions are that the person who you think as your soul mate is married, what can you do? Love does not entitle you any rights to break a family, or to make a child see his/her parents live apart. The best you can do is to leave and wish the other person well.
To stay together is not the only way to love, sometimes to let go is also a form of love.
However, it is almost totally pointless to describe the "meaning" of any Roxette song. Unless you're going to specifically point out the weird phrases they occasionally use (I attribute them to the fact that the band is Swedish), it's an exercise in futility due to the relatively shallow and straightforward nature of the lyrics.
