Hey Baby, Is that you?
Wow your hair got so long.
Yea, yea! I love it, I really do.

Norma Jean ain't that the song
We'd sing in the car
Drivin' down town,
Top down makin' the rounds,
Checkin' out the bands on Dull Hinney Avenue.

Yea life throws you curves,
But you learned to swerve.
Me I swung and I miss
And the next thing you know I'm reminiscing.
Dreaming old dreams,
Wishing old wishes,
Like we would be back again.

[Chorus]
I wake up and tear drops,
They fall down like rain.
I put on that old song we danced to and then,
I head off to my job,
Guess not much has changed.
Punch the clock.
Head for home.
Check the phone,
Just in case.
Go to bed,
Dream of you,
That's what I'm doing these days.

Yea that's what I'm doing.

Someone told me, after college,
You ran off to Vegas,
You married a rodeo cowboy...why
That ain't the girl I knew.

Me I've been a few places,
Mostly here and there once or twice.
Still sortin' out life, but I'm doing alright.
Yea, It's good to see you too.

Well hey girl, you're late.
And those planes they don't wait.
But if you ever come back around
This sleepy old town,
Promise me you'll stop in
To see an old friend,
And until then

[Chorus]

[Repeat x3]
I wake up and tear drops,
They fall down like rain.
I put on that old song we danced to and then,

My Opinion:This song is wonderful, but seeing it from both sides, it is difficult. One side: I have been there, but overcame it. Another side: listening to the song being played over and over again day in and day out from my spouse causes emotional pain. The one that is being thought of by him has caused a ripple effect in our lives. Once just a memory became a reality. She is married with children a choice she made a long time ago. He is married to me. Just remember, emotional affairs are just as bad if not worse than sexual affairs.....

General Comment:I agree with you, pwned55. Maybe not so dramatic though... I interpret it as a guy who got dumped by the girl he loved more than anything else in the world, and he's still broken up about it. I'm guessing she did the whole "let's just be friends" line, and they run into each other at the airport. Anyway, she went off and just kinda deserted him after they broke up, like people always do when they pull the whole "let's be friends" card out. By the way, that never happens. You can't be friends with the love of your life who just freaking dumped you. Sorry. Off topic there. Anyway, awesome song. Can't wait for Unstoppable!

General Comment:me and my ex broke up a month ago- and we stopped being friends, too. I thought it'd be best to have no contact, because it hurt me to know he would soon be back into the dating game. Although we don't need each other, since we aren't compatible, I think about him every day. I wonder what he's doing and who he might be seeing now. I think about our good times we had and the times he was there for me. It's hard to know it's over for good, but he has a big part of my memory, that I can't erase. It drives me crazy. I doubt we will cross paths ever again, since we are far apart. But I sometimes visit his town, where I used to live, but I won't plan on visiting him everytime I am there. I have to move on. Just because I don't love him anymore, doesn't mean I stopped dreaming about him and thinking about him and wishing we were together again.

General Comment:An ex from high school and I have recently gotten back in touch and have caught up. I can tell that he still has some feelings for me after all this time (over 10 years). No matter how life and relationships move on, you still may have lingering feelings for someone or wonder what may have been. I think everyone can relate to this at one point or another in their lives.

I like how they say "see an old friend". I think this could be looked at 2 ways: 1) she doesn't really fell that way about him anymore since they haven't seen each other in quite some time or 2) he is trying to disguise his feeling for her as friendship so she doesn't know how he really feels.

General Comment:This song makes me cry. It perfectly describes what it's like to want nothing in this world more than having someone back in your life, and at the same time knowing it will never happen. They've moved on, they don't need you, and you're left knowing you'll never be the same without them.

General Comment:my ex dedicated this song to me... and we broke up still in love.. it was a fantasy love and we knew we could never be together, we were at different points in our lives.. about 6 months after we broke up we wnt on a date and all of those same emotions came back, it was as if not a day had passed. .. we were on each others mind always and we eventually fell out of each others mind.. we were meant to be with each other but, life prevented us from that... i hold him dear in my heart.. we have gone our seperate ways... and I'm happy.. but everytime I hear this song it reminds me of a life that I wanted so bad but was unable to have... god works in mysterious ways...

General Comment:This song has a lot of meaning to me, because until recently when I got over him, it's how I felt about my ex. It's about how the guy lost the girl he loved, and he's still in love with her to this day, even though she's moved on.

General Comment:It sounds like a break-up. They broke up in high school, most likely she broke up with him. He loved her still. She married some guy out of college, and he's hurt cuz he loved her. Then he says "Stop in and see an old friend" as if they're still friends even though she prolly doesn't think so.

General Comment:This is a song about how he is still in love with her. He realizes they will never be together, but he still holds on to that last hope.
