Well it's getting colder and you're getting distant
and I just keep thinkin'
that I never meant it to be like this,
to be like this
You know what comes next, so do I
You’re begging for a way to gracefully bow out
and say "goodnight!"

It's worse than you think
On your way home you should have known
you never listen to me

(on your way home you should have known, you never listen to me)
I’m only complainin' to keep myself busy, sweetie
I’m only complainin' to keep myself busy, sweetie

I can’t say I blame you
but I wish that I could
I’m sick of writing every song about you

Don't call my name out your window I'm leavin' (8x)
(I'm sick of writing every song, I'm sick of writing every song about you)
(you should have known on your way home)

Don't call my name out your window I'm leavin' (6x)
(I'm sick of writing every song, I'm sick of writing every song about you)
(you should have known on your way home)

Don't call my name out your window I'm leavin' (4x)
(I'm sick of writing every song, I'm sick of writing every song about you)
(you should have known on your way home)

Don't call my name out your window I'm leavin' (2x)
(I'm sick of writing every song, I'm sick of writing every song about you)

Don't call my name out your window I'm leavin'
Don't call my name out your window I'm leavin'

General Comment:I agree with m1nu5 th3 b34r . There has already been a lot said, so I will just add that, like the person above me wrote, I love the part " I can't say I blame you but I wish that I could I'm sick of writing every song about you"

also I never noticed this lyric but I like it "I'm only complaining to keep myself busy.."

    Best lyrics ever!
Very amazing song. But what else can you expect from Taking Back Sunday?
Ofcourse, its a relationship song. And although most of the songs on this earth are of that type, they never get old when they're written like this.

General Comment:This song is about the singer's relationship with a guy. With Jesse Lacey of Brand New. Lazara Slept with Lacey's girlfriend, and it pissed Jesse off, so they split up (Jesse with the rest of TBS) and He started Brand New. Lazara is sick of writing every song about his ex-best friend and when he says "I can't say I blame you" he is talking about how he knows he fucked up, but still needs the feud to stop. The 'window' is Lacey's window to the world, his microphone...He's saying stop calling me out because I need to be done with this.

General Comment:this entire album is basically a storyline of relationship failing. and this song is about him finally breaking it off because the way she is making him feel is killing him.

i relate to this song and entire album, completely. this is probably the only cd i listened to for a good year after having to break it off with my ex. every song on the album describes my relationship as it began to crash and burn. and no matter how many times i gave second chances and tried to work through lies and cheating, i had to wise up and break it off. and thats what this song is about; he gets smart and calls it quits before she consumes him
