Punk Rock Princess Lyrics
Maybe when the room is empty
Maybe when the bottles full Maybe when the door gets broke down love can break in Maybe when I'm done with thinking Maybe you can think me whole Maybe when I'm done with endings this can begin, this can begin, this can begin If you could be my punk rock princess I would be your garage band king You could tell me why you just don't fit in and how you're gonna be somethin Maybe when your hair gets darker Maybe when your eyes get wide Maybe when the walls are smaller there will be more space Maybe when I'm not so tired Maybe you could step inside Maybe when I look for things that I can't replace, I can't replace, I can't replace If you could be my punk rock princess I would be your garage band king You could tell me why you just don't fit in and how you're gonna be somethin If I could be your first real heartache I would do it over again If you could be my punk rock princess I would be your heroin I never thought you'd last I never dreamed you would You watch your life go past You wonder if you should And you should be my punk rock princess so I would be your garage band king You could tell me why you just don't fit in and how your gunna be somethin If I could be your first real heartache I would do it over again If you could be my punk rock princess I would be your heroin Woah, you know you only burn my friendships Woah, you know you just can't let it sink in You could be my heroin You could be my heroin

I think this song actually is about a girl andrew didn't like. not that he didn't care about her, but she had a lot of things he didn't care for. I think the whole song is ambiguous, easily interpreted as being a love anthem, when in actuality, a kind of venting of frustration. 'Maybe when this room... bottle's full' that's talking about all these quirks she has that annoy him, she's anti-social, drinks... then the tone switches to sincerity, 'maybe when this door gets broke down, love can break in.' maybe when she stops trying to be hard and just is real for a bit, he can really love her like she wants him to. then there's the chorus, blah blah blah, you've all already talked about it, but it's supposed to be heroin right now, he's saying he could be everything for her, but again the verse says why he can't. she dies her hair, she wears a lot of make-up, or whatever, all these things that contribute to the facade she has in order to appear tough and untouchable. but then he switches to sincerity again, maybe when she stops building her walls so thick, it might give them room for a relationship to grow. When he's not tired of working at the feelings, like when she works on it a bit too, she'll be able to become a major part of his life. chorus again, then he says if he could be her first REAL heartache, if he knew that she really loved him, that he wasn't some stupid crush, then he'd go through all the frustration again. That means that he cares for her, he loves her, but not like most of you want to think. he loves her, he cries because of her, but it's because he wants so bad for her to be real with him, he wants her to be vulnerable. He wants what he sees her as at punk concerts; jumping around, acting crazy, banging her head, not caring what everyone else thinks. but until she can be like that with him, he'll never really LOVE her. He'll listen to her dreams, he'll be everything she'll ever want or long for or need.
Then at the very end, he says if she does this for him, if she's honest with him, she could be the one girl who saves him from all these other heartaches, all the problems he has going on, she could be his heroine.
right, i know you all want to think it's about his undying love for a girl, how he needs her so much he'll have to go into detox if she leaves, and this interpretation isn't nearly as glamorous, but i personally think it's a bit more thought out, and meaningful because of that. the kind of love he has for this girl runs deeper, one that (shock, horror) doesn't involve kissing, or making out or anything.

"Maybe when the door gets broke down love can break in"
.. A boy who liked me (He's my boyfriend for over 1,5 year now) asked how he could break down the door.. I dont remember what I said.. I only remember that after half an hour he was at my door waiting for a kiss.. So this song will always remind me of that day I guess.. :)

i think it`s about love and how they want so hard to make something work that might not just work and it may just be a quick romance even though they thought it`d be more.
I never thought you'd last
I never dreamed you would
You watch your life go past
You wonder if you should

Also "*If* you would be my punk rock princess"? Sounds like she isn't at all--in spite of their differences (though SoCo punk rock? hmmm...not quite) and his distinct lack of bravery, he still wants to be with her. That's gotta be the sweetest thing.
