Lyrics for Six Days as interpreted by random_monkey

Six Days Lyrics
At the starting of the week
at summit talks, you hear them speak
It's only Monday.

Negotiations breaking down
see those leaders start to frown
it's sword and gun day
Tomorrow never comes until it's too late.

You could be sitting taking lunch
the news will hit you like a punch
It's only Tuesday

You never thought we'd go to war
after all the things we saw
it's April fools day.
Tomorrow never comes until it's too late,
tomorrow never comes until it's too late.

You hear a whistling overhead
Are you alive or are you dead?
it's only Thursday

You feel the shaking of the ground
A billion candles burn around
is it your birthday?
Tomorrow never comes until it's too late,
tomorrow never comes until it's too late.

Make tomorrow come, I think it's too late.

I think you messed up a tad, the first lines should read as follows:

At the starting of the week
at summit talks you'll hear them speak
It's only monday

Awesome shall suffice, and 'GAR!' to the cock-up, how the hell did I do that?

It sounds like 'at summit', but that wouldn't make sense

Oh, noticed another mistake :D

now I gotta find out how to edit it...

sorry, it is "at summit talks, you hear them speak." because its at the UN summit, where the world leaders go. also, it isnt "and so did monday" it's "it's sorting gun day" because they're sorting guns for war. lastly, its "after all the things we saw, its april fools day." not say.

I just got this song and have had it on repeat for ages, it's amazing! It's got that dark, sinister quality to it that I LOVE, and the beat is fucking fantastic and makes me want to dance. I need this album now.

I'm pretty sure it's sampled from a song about the Six Day War, which helped establish Israel. I wonder what happened to Wednesday..?

What's funny is that this song always reminds me of lazy summer days, mostly because that's when i got the album.

Actually, I think that its a song about a breakup. Think about it, for the Tuesday segment it says "You never thought we'd go to war, after all the things we saw". He's comparing war to the end of the relationship.

Really good song...It's about the relationship, and suffering caused by the end of that relationship...You hear a whistling overhead
Are you alive or are you dead?
it's only Thursday...Shadow is awesome...Private Press is awesome...

I guess it would be too mediocre to think that the song is only about relationships. It could have some connection with Bruce Lee? I guess the quotation from the end is not coincidental... Excellent track by the way!

I see most of you think its about a breakup.
I see where your going.
A little shorter in my sights, and its about War.

First id like to refere to THT. The Isreal comment.

There are summit talk, basically the leaders argure, then a whistling overhead signifies bombs and such.

A million candles replcaing lights.

But thats the obvious answer.

Definitely sounds to be about war, and how your wishing it would hurry up end until you realize it's over and all your friends are dead. It also does a good job of describing my week in school (You could be sitting taking lunch the news will hit you like a punch
It's only Tuesday) ugh

I think he's simply talking about life .
that nothings getting better , each and everyday its getting worse , and theres nothing you can do to stop it . only thing u can hope for is a starting of another day weathere its good or bad , u want tomorrow before anything else happens . and thats when it comes too late .
amazing song.

actually the vocals are directly from the song "the 6 day war" by colonel bagshot. and as is obvious, it refers to the 6 day war ('67).

i believe it is about both things put into one.
first of all the first verse is about the government and whoever else talking and trying to prevent another war.
the second verse is when the guy is with his girlfriend, not neccesarily having lunch but doing whatever, and he finds out he has to go to war, and he cant believe "they would go to war after all the things they've saw" and its almost like he wants it to be a joke.
the third verse skips wednesday and its jut a day swallowed by the war. and the whistling over head represents bombs so he doenst know if hes going to survive or die.
and i take the last verse as, a shaking of the ground is an offensive attack and bombing, and crap like that and a billion candles represents the guns firing around him from both sides.

he feels like tomorrow will never come untill hes dead...i think he dies at the end..."make tomorrow come I THINK ITS TOO LATE"...hes at least dying.

i think this song is something to do with the UN.. when they got together to decide a big weapons deal.. theres refferences in the song about nuclear bombs with the milion candles and the earth shaking. the meetings that took place were over six days and had days off in between.. ie no wednesday.
And tomorrow never comes until it's too late is.. all these world leaders just decide to make loads of WMD's just in case they need them.. so tomorrow never comes until it's too late is a full blown war that no1 thought would really happen and is to late to do anything about.. because they just thought it was something to worry about later... maybe?

the whole line with you could sat taking lunch, is the moment when you find out that your country is at war or some major millitary action is happening somewhere.

i dont know for sure but why the hell would he make a song about the six days war? most of his music is political or has some deep meaning. i dont know i just think that sounds stupid!

also has anyone heard the fast and the furious version of this song? really cool!

I don't wana dash anyone elses thoughts, but I interpret this song very bluntly and simply. Follow the lyrics...

Summit talks= U.N. Negotiations

Negotiations breaking down= hostility increasing between ppl.

The News will hit you like a punch= Surprise, the country is going to war

Never thought we'd go to war= after cold war, ppl thought there would be peace
(Also, there is no Wednesday because he says it's april fools day- Apr 1st, the next time a wednesday will be on apr 1st is in 2009.)

Whistling overhead, shaking of ground, candles = bombs.

Tomorrow never comes until it's too late.

SHADOW WANTS US TO INTERPRET THIS SONG LITERALLY. TAKE ACTION NOW AND STOP THE VIOLENCE!!!!!!!

yeah nice one gypsy5.. thats just what everyone else here has said... so had you have bothered to read any of them you could have tried to write a comment with something different or just something that wasn't a compiled summary of everyone else's stuff. and april fools day 2009? whats the significance of that?!!
