It's been so long
Since I've felt the heat of the sun on my paw
You're the one who knows me best
Put your things, put your plan to the test
You're a smile from the street
You hold my heart in my hands, well, I'll be
Oh, you're always on the decline
You take another sip of wine
A toast to us
You're the one with the stars
Ah*
- short solo -
You held the sign for the one that you are
That you
That you
That you
That you
- long solo -
You're ...
You're the one in the sky
When you go
You know you're where the planets grow
You're in the sun
I'll face it
To go where you're home
Oh ...
Since I've felt the heat of the sun on my paw
You're the one who knows me best
Put your things, put your plan to the test
You're a smile from the street
You hold my heart in my hands, well, I'll be
Oh, you're always on the decline
You take another sip of wine
A toast to us
You're the one with the stars
Ah*
- short solo -
You held the sign for the one that you are
That you
That you
That you
That you
- long solo -
You're ...
You're the one in the sky
When you go
You know you're where the planets grow
You're in the sun
I'll face it
To go where you're home
Oh ...

Alot of Niandra Lades was done during the recording of Blood Sugar Sex Magik from what I hear, and that there was only one song that was recorded after John quit the band, which was "Running Away into you"
John said in an interview as well that Smile from the streets you hold was a compilation of stuff recorded years prior that was left out and that there wasn't enough space to put on Niandra Lades.
Because I've heard several times that John hadn't played a guitar in like forever in 1998 when he rejoined the Chili Peppers, and that was from various sources, wikipedia.org, and Scar Tissue, so it must have been atleast 3 or 4 years that he had disbanded his guitars for drug money. I keep hearing that Enter a Uh and Nigger Song were recorded in 1997, but then again I hear that John hadn't played a guitar in like forever. maybe a year means like.. forever.
Who knows.
