The cardboard head I see
Has found its way to me
Its out and its out and its out
Making me cry
I sleep but I will not move
I'm too scared to leave my room
But I won't be defeated, oh no

[Chorus:]
What if cars don't go my way
And its sure to spoil my day?
But in voices loud and clear you say to me;
"Its only superstition
Its only your imagination
Its only all the things that you fear
And the things from which you can't escape"

Keep clean for the thousandth time
Stand still and wait in line
Some numbers are better than others
Oh no

[Chorus]

And its making me cry, and its making me cry
And I'm slipping away, I'm slipping away

Its only superstition, only your imagination
And its only superstition, only superstition.

My Opinion:Ok first this song is crazy addicting and I'm glad its here! Alright so I think this song is about fears and how sometimes people are too scared to make decisions or even move because they think to much of the "what ifs". But Chris is telling himself its only our imagination... That we shouldn't fear for whatever comes will come.

General Comment:I think that it's about of one person that believe in things like premonitions about the future
"What if cards don't go my way?"
    That say all.
And somebody, like a friend, say to him: "it's only superstition
    It's only your imagination"

And Yeah! my english sucks xD!

General Comment:This is such a beautiful song, Chris's voice is perfect. I'm a big Coldplay fan, but I wish they still made music like this :\

But it sounds like it's about doubts. Everyone has doubts, and everyone has excuses to calm those doubts. 'It's only superstition' is the excuse kinda

General Comment:I think its about insane superstitions and the anxiety which come along with them, sounds like obsessive compulsive disorder to me. Could be reading too much into it but its makes sense. I love this song =D!

General Comment:I never thought about it, but I do see the religion view of this song. And it's odd to hear these words from someone like Chris.

General Comment:the feeling i get from this song is a feeling i get from a few other coldplay song, and its almost a feeling of dispair when your telling someone you love them so much dispite anything that happens in the world and they look you in the eye and smile and say "It's only superstition/Only your imagination"
